LiL Iffy is an artist who has clashed the two worlds of Hip hop and Harry Potter in an artistic dream scape that flows so fluidly it's as if Jo Rowling herself intended for Harry to dream of being a rap legend instead of an Auror.
With Knoxville roots and complete understanding of the Harry Potter world, Iffy creates a thing of beauty that blesses my ears and causes a muffliato spell to come over me so that this brilliant word smith is all I hear.
His first album, "Wand Ambition" is a work of art that I can not express more gratitude about.
It also doesn't hurt that the gentlemen behind this brilliance are very kind and grateful people for the success this album has had.

Brainnnnsssss. Braiiiinnnnsssss. WALKING DEAD SEASON 3 WANTS YOUR EYES AND BRAINS!
That's right people! February is right on our doorstep and you know what that means....right?
VALENTINES DAY! YAYAYAYAY
NO!
Who needs love and compassion and holidays brought to us by candy companies when we have THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 3!
That's right, the human munching, zombie killing, violence infested glorious-ness that is The Walking Dead will be returning us to our couches and causing us to board up the doors and windows once more.
The show ended us with a huge cliff hanger that could only leave us guessing at what's next for Rick and the gang. Needless to say, I'd eat a brain to just get the chance to start watching now. (Not that I'd actually do that.....don't judge me, Nerdiverse.)
The season will kick back up on February 10th, 9 P.M. EST on AMC
However, on that note I present to you a sneak peak to the next installment in the series which will be titled "The Suicide King"
Enjoy!
Calling to Duty! Black Ops 2: Revolution is on it's way!
Do you love killing your fellow gamers in fire fights that give you an unquenchable thirst for more?
Well, you may have a serious condition that you should speak to a therapist about immediately or are in desperate need of a zombie apocalypse.
OR
You need some DLC. (At least that's my excuse.)
If you enjoy ass-kicking bullet fights and using obstacles to ward your enemies into a false sense of hope then you're in luck.
COD: Black Ops 2 will be releasing it's first DLC on January 29th under the title "Revolution". This new map pack will be bringing five brand new maps, one of which will be catering to all of your zombie infested nightmares.
Though the map pack will be releasing for the Xbox 360 only on January 29th, PS3 hopefuls need not worry. The map pack will release for them shortly in the weeks after.
Not only are we getting five new maps, we will also be getting the peace keeper! The first ever weapon addition in Call of Duty history!
To add a wonderful addition in history making, you can now PLAY AS A ZOMBIE! A game mode titled "Turned" allows you to play as the zombie against your friends.
Here is the official trailer video for the new DLC to give you some visual details on all that I've covered.
Hope you enjoy!
We're a little late on this news tonight, however, for those of you who are fans of manga this will be some very awesome news indeed!
Yesterday Shonen Jump launched their new website with some explicit details in what's to come!
Now called "Weekly Shonen Jump" the weekly manga mag will be releasing SAME DAY AS JAPAN!
No more two week delay, no more spoilers!
This means audiences outside of the Japanese culture can finally experience the wonderful manga we know and love as soon as it releases without waiting for translations or having to learn to read a second language!
They will also be releasing some brand spanking new manga for us all to enjoy! One of these being titled "One Punch Man" about a man with super hero like powers to destroy his foes with a single punch. His greatest problem, finding a villain strong enough to actually fight him.
An interesting concept and one that I'm looking forward to checking out in the revamped and supercharged new Shonen Jump.
Here is a thirty second anthem trailer for you to enjoy!
If you would like to know more or are interested in signing up for the new same day as Japan "Weekly Shonen Jump" you can click HERE and check 'em out!
The Elder Scrolls Online is coming....are you ready?
This morning I witnessed something beyond brilliance, beyond passion, beyond the gift of life being brought into the nerdiverse of ours.
I witnessed the launch video of the signups for The Elder Scrolls Online beta testing.
This may not be that big of a deal to some of you (possibly most). However, it is.
This being the first article presented on HL&G, I was ecstatic to see this news on today of all days. The Elder Scrolls is a series that dates back to 1994 and though it's first few games did not receive the same notification that the last three games have, they were still wonderful titles that set the tone for the world in which we now play in.
The world I speak of is the continent of Tamriel. This continent has several different countries within it which is where our playable characters hail from.
The first of the series I ever played was The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. This game changed my idea of video games as a child. It was so large and so adventurous that I could barely contain myself. It received Game of the Year and thus a GOTY edition was released with two expansions included. (If you have never played any of the games of this series, I definitely suggest starting with Morrowind. The graphics may be poor compared to todays games, however, the content within the game is more expansive and exciting than most novels.)
The next on the list of Elder Scrolls titles is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. There is not enough I can say about this game. I played it from the moment of release to this very day. This game took the success of Morrowind and ran with it. It made achievements in RPG gaming that most couldn't imagine and thus won game of the year similar to its predecessor. Oblivion came with downloadable content (DLC) from the Xbox live marketplace that not only gave you so many additions to your gaming experience but also the wonderful and much controversial Horse Armor.
Along with both of these titles being on console they were also released on PC. There, the gaming community took the games and created their own adventures through a system called Modding. Modding is an ability to design and program different stories, characters, content, and many many other things into the game you are currently playing.
The most recent release of these titles was The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. Released on 11/11/11. The game became an instant hit. It gave hundreds of possible playable paths and thousands of hours of content. Not only has this game introduced a whole new generation to the series, it also gave the modding community a lot of "wiggle room" in order to play and create with.
With all these great titles, we were all curious as to what Bethesda studios would do next. Would we simply be given DLC and a new game some years down the road?
The answer was Yes.
We have been given the DLC. We have been told a new game will come. We have also been given WAY more than we thought was possible.
Thus I introduce The Elder Scrolls Online. The Elder Scrolls Online, set a thousand years prior to Skyrim, is an amazing achievement in the series. This MMORPG is being brought to us by ZeniMax online studios. I feel that they have done an amazing job with the brain child of Bethesda Studios and the anticipation is killing me.
The game will be primarily PVP (Player vs Player) with a large portion given to the classic styling of PVE (Player vs Environment) that we have come to love in the series.
Now that I've given you a bit of the Dee-el on the series, it's on to the news.
Yesterday, the Elder Scrolls Online announced that they have opened the chance to submit to play the beta version and test for bugs and tweaks that the game needs. This means that the release is soon approaching. The game places you in a battle for the rightful throne of the Imperial City. Three factions that you can choose from are at your disposal. The Aldmeri Dominion, The Ebonheart Pact, and The Daggerfall Covenant. The game gives you the opportunity to fight the two factions you did not choose for control and the throne of the Empire.
Beta testings for the public are a wonderful way for people to not only get a first look at the game and it's playability and likeability. It's also an amazing way for developers to see how the public responds and how it plays in the hands of actual gamers from around the globe.
If you're interested in playing the games you can check them out on Steam or attempt to find hard copies of them in stores.

Thank you all very much for reading! Welcome to the Nerdiverse!
This is the first post of a pet project I have been developing over the past few days.
So far, I know a basic idea of what I want to do with this.
Essentially we can call this Beta version 1.0
The idea for Hook Line and Geeker is that I will be posting news and other interesting things that cover many different layers of geek and nerd culture.
To start I will be posting about things such as:
Video Games, Comics, Tabletop gaming, movies, and books.
If you have any suggestions you can email them to me OR post on our message the facebook page and let me know what YOU would like to see from this.
On another note, I will also be posting events that pertain to the nerd and geek community happening throughout Virginia & DC area.
If this idea grows, I will attempt to expand the events posting past just those two areas. For now, we will start small.
I hope you all enjoy and feel thoroughly entertained from the opinions of myself on the news of the nerdiverse!
