What happens to someone when their life slowly fragments before their eyes, before shattering into pieces from that final blow? What happens when up starts to look like down, and the things that used to bring them joy now only bring panic? When the natural order of their body halts, and breathing becomes an unnatural act of thought?

Following the whispered words of a stranger, Harry Styles finds himself in the small town of Peri Ridge. It’s a town nestled within overgrown forests, raging rivers, and ominous mountains- full of unkept secrets, the aura of freedom, and lost people seeking to be found. It’s here that Harry works to uncover all the parts of himself that he buried long ago.

With the help of the captivating bartender, Louis, who he can’t seem to stop daydreaming about, and his enchanting group of friends; Harry remembers what it is to be alive.

This is a story about small-town secrets, found family, queer identities, and the battle between fight and flight.

Standing on the flat rocks surrounding the pool, he feels their heat radiating up through his feet. Cool air, still biting, but the rising steam sends chills through his body. The moon finally emerges from whatever obstruction it was hiding behind. Its cooling light washes over them once again, accenting Louis' sharp cheekbones and making his blue eyes sparkle.

They're watching each other when Louis begins removing his clothing, pulling his shirt over his head first. Then reaching for the buttons of his trousers. Harry tears his gaze away, not wanting to test his already flimsy boundaries. Lifting his head up, he stares into the night sky, towards the endlessness of sparkling stars and all the mysteries they hold. They do well holding his focus while he listens to the soft sounds of Louis' clothing hitting the rocks.

"Swim with me," Louis whispers, almost pleading. Harry takes another moment with the stars before chancing a glance at Louis.

A story about small-town secrets, found family, queer identities and the battle between fight and flight.
