Hello! My name is Rabbit. I am 22. I am an adult and post adult things. No DNI, I'll just block you if you bother me. They/He/It. Do not use she for me. I'll just block you.

There are a lot of things that are going to be talked about in this post so buckle up, not much of it makes sense.

Rabbit (He/They/She): Always present. I am always Rabbit even when I am not. Rabbit is a heart type as well as a shift that I have for myself. I myself do not use she for myself, but the Rabbit wants what the Rabbit wants. Ram (He/They/It): Secondary to primary Rabbit. Ram is very much the bravado. He is strong and loud and good to have in a tight situation. Usually triggered by more traditionally masculine dressings. Binder, hiking boots, etc. {Void}(It/They): {Void} is a blank space protecting Ram and Rabbit from Doe. Void is not something that feels good to be in. It is there to simply be an in between so that Doe does not have a space to move into. Doe (She/It): Doe represents all that is anxious. She is obsessiveness. She is lying and compulsion. she is pathetic and weak and does not have any power unless you allow it to have power. Very clever, she doesn't need to bully Rabbit long in order to fuck things up.

Hare (He/It): Only in very specific circumstances does he appear and it usually isn't a great day if I do get to shift into hare. Hare is only brought on if I have a shift from Doe to {Void} to Rabbit.

Dog (They/It/He): Dog is my academic. My researcher and the obsessive one digging for things to sink its teeth into. He’s exhausting but very useful. Smart. A little illogical. Doe and Dog walk a thin line.

My shifting is incredibly and integrally tied to my emotions. I can not access certain emotion sets through being Rabbit versus when I am Ram Doe Void or Hare. Rabbit feels almost all emotions that are on the standard wheel of emotions. She is my neutral state and I love her so much even if she is kind of a pussy sometimes. They can not handle too heavy emotions. If something gets too heavy it almost always goes to Ram. Ram is not one to deal with softness. He hates it and runs at the hills when gushy emotions come about. He does not like affection and I often feel him come on when I feel the most nonverbal and anti social. Big headphones and horns that make my head feel heavy and protected. He comes on very strongly and without warning but so does Rabbit. {Void} Isn't connected to any emotions. The main three in the triad are Rabbit Ram and {Void}. Rabbit is at the top, Ram is to the bottom right, and Void is to the bottom left. {Void} is a vacancy I myself can not explain other than a necessary evil in order to keep Doe distanced from the others. Nothing is there. It's like putting your ear up to one of those massive sea shells and hearing that noise you feel in your throat that makes you want to scream even if you know you won't be able to make a sound. Doe is who holds all of my anxiety. My doubt. My negative emotions. My illnesses. My chronic disorders and my pain. My little mentally ill deer, I want to hit you with a 2007 honda civic at full speed blasted off white wine. It claws at the walls around it with bleeding hooves to get to the top but Void and Ram have to keep it in check. She claws at my brain and whispers things in the tree line, prancing around, taunting me with her disruption. She tramples my din. She ruins my bushes. She wreaks havoc on the local eco system and I hate her for it. She loves attention and if I give it to her she destroys my life. If I could hang her head on a wall as a trophy I would (Sincerely, the Ram). Hare exists when I go from Doe to {Void} to Rabbit. Hare is triggered when Rabbit feels too threatened to switch into Ram from the shell shock of Doe. Void can only dissipate and protect the others so much and Rabbit is not equipped emotionally for those bigger feelings. It truly is bizarre, it's like I am just full unable to access them as Rabbit. However, it doesn't surprise me. Hare is avoided if I go from Doe to {Void} to Ram. Ram can handle all of the weight from Doe that Void couldn't clean up. I have inklings of something being connected to Ram and not anything else as well as something connected to Rabbit and nothing else. That will be a future discovery that I will leave for another day.

I am so busy this week and I simply don’t want to be.

So I don’t see enough mushrooms and fungus rep so I’m gonna spread my spores and talk about my own fungusness..

I personally prefer to call myself funguskin over mushroomkin because I am both the mycelium and the fruit above ground. Plus I’m other kinds of fungus that many wouldn’t consider mushrooms like molds and (partially) lichen. I’ve always had a fascination with fungi, even before my awakening as them. The smell of dirt and detritus, and beautiful unfurling, twisting, clumping of them, and of course, their role in the ecosystem. I feel a deep longing to be part of that; I wish I could take part in the decomposition and nurture.

Shifts for me in regard to my funguskin are pretty interesting. They don’t happen often but when they do it’s usually when I’m already outside in the forest. It usually starts with me slowing down; sitting on the ground and my breathing slows almost to a halt. And, I guess the mental side of the shift, all my thoughts slow save for images of mycelium and mold, and the desire to assimilate with the nature I’m in. Rarely I have phantom shift but when I do I feel all kinds of types of fungus growing from the vessel, and my mycelium reaching out to everything around. I feel so beautiful then.

I think my identity as fungus contributes to my love of dead things. I love to collect bones and dead bugs; one day I’d love to start collecting full specimens.

I’ve thought about doing experiments with mold. I think it would feel so nice to, in some small way, be part of and watch the decomposition. Though I need to do more research on how to do it safely within my home. I also really want to make/buy some fungus related stuff (gear?) like more fungus-y clothes and jewelry. I also think it would be cool to paint mold n stuff on me with makeup.

That was a lot more ramble-y than I wanted but oh well :b I’d love to hear more from my fellow fungi !!

i think there is a lot to be said about "if you want more serious posts, make them yourself!". its something i absolutely agree with. but i do hope that we all realize that none of us can shit out long, insightful essays on command. that for a lot of us (at least, for me) a long piece of writing only comes when we have a lot to say, or when we've made a discovery. it can take me months of feeling something out for me to be ready to write about it.

i think what is more important, instead of putting out long content, is to support the essays that are already out. new writing will come with time, big essays will come with time. we should encourage others to write, but we can't expect results immediately. there is so much writing on tumblr that is incredible and that deserves more attention than it gets. repost, recirculate, reread until something new comes around.

and when that new essays comes around, repost it. spread it around and support it. this is not a matter of "make! make! make!". we are not a community built around production and consumption and we wont get anywhere pretending that we are. an environment that produces fruitful self-reflection and personal essays requires good dirt, lots of compost, and the active decision to read what is written.

I don’t speak a whole ton but I do think a lot and feel the need to make posts that I think are important about my experience but back out because I feel like my writing will either not be good enough or that it will be misconstrued. It’s my field to write research papers and present them! It also takes a lot of time and energy not just to make them but to read them and properly process them! Bark bark bark!
