Bee-dside Manner

He probably should have been more careful, Ground had been negligent in properly assessing his surroundings, and nearly ended up beneath approximately five hundred pounds of rock. Ground narrowly escaped the cave-in - barely, and began slowly limping back home. Dented up with a far more damaged pride. On the tread back, he didn’t realize how damaged he’d been. A shredded leg, dented frame, and the side of his head was so severely dented that his coms had been knocked offline entirely. Great. 

Despite the damage, he limped his way home, back to the castle. Ground lumbered into the repair bay, with little service robots following behind him - offering him aid and cleaning the floor of oil drops behind him. Ground lay on the table with a sigh. He waved off the flock of robots behind him. And he closed his eyes while the machines worked to repair his coms. 

In all honesty, hearing from Hornet was the best thing to come out of it. He had been alone for a while, staring at the ceiling, left to his own thoughts of how stupid he had been and how he could have avoided the cave-in entirely. Not fun. He needed to take his mind off of it. Ground sat up, and called for one of the service robots. 

“We are expecting company soon, “ he instructed them, “He is a good robot, treat him with the same respect as you do with me. Hornet is welcome here.”

Hornet’s duties were done for the day, and he opted to leave his bulky armour in his room. In left him far lighter on his feel in sneaking past his siblings and to the teleporter room without being waylaid. He still had the co-ordinance from the last time he’d been to Ground’s home.

He only brought a book on native flora and its cultural uses. He’d found it left behind in one of the parks. Slightly damaged by rain he’d been enjoying reading it non the less, and maybe Ground would enjoy it as well. The teleport went smoothly and he was greeted by one of the service bot drones.

Drones Hornet was familiar with, comfortable with even, smiling in a friendly manner. “Hello, I am here to see Ground, would you take me to him please?”

A little dented, a few wires snapped and unhooked - Nothing the repair bay here cannot fix. To be honest, I have had far worse. I will need to remind myself to be more cautious around unstable rocks. 

Please, do not worry about me too much. I am fine.

That wonderful Concrete! You’ve been working so hard we should be calling you the busy bee. Its such a relief to know that the brownouts wont be happening as frequently, with you around there’s always quality construction going on.

Only with your blessing can I be an honorary Con-bee-te, fuzzbruh! How’s it been for you and the rest, lately? Weather clearing out and getting warm and all :)))

There has been a lot more work for me, which is good, I like being useful. Galaxy has even been helping with the gardens at the labs. I haven’t heard from Tornado or Jewel recently, which is unfortunate, I really wanted to introduce Jewel to my friend Ground. Plug has been working through his anime, sometimes we watch them and nature documentaries together. You are always a honorary Con-bee-te in my mind!

We refurbished and built those plants in record time! It took a lot of overtime hours but now we’ve eliminated brownouts and I have extra wads to spend on your shiny heinies for once WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I’ll say! I can always back up power at the labs, but helping out all those other people in town was what we’re built for!

Why don’t we take Nii-chan out and celebrate? Sure beats being cooped up all day fixing phones and tablets. (Not that it isn’t fun either! (´・ω・`) )
