Important facts about Shinigami!Riruka: 

Her time in Second Division means you don’t see her coming unless she wants you to.

Shunpo? You better believe she’s good at it. No one knows just how good though. 

She has an incredible distaste for the 'Noble Houses’. 

Byakuya at least is fine enough in her opinion. 

If she knew what boomers were she’d call the old guys in the Gotei 13 just that.

‘Riruka did you just eat that Hollow?’ Maybe, whatcha gonna do about it?

Swordfighting is stupid don’t make her do it. 

To compensate, her Kidō is pretty good- though it’s mostly ‘cause she’s creative with it. 

Because she hates actually, physically fighting. Anyone who forces her into it is going to have A Bad Time.

She can and will Cero a bitch in the face. 

Her Fullbring combines with her Bankai in Very Interesting (read: fucked up) Ways.

HIGH ENERGY❣ –  OR: A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY

     Riruka is a tiny, skinny thing– the exact kind of figure one might expect from someone as appearance-conscious as she is. One would think it’s either a combination of rigorous exercise and careful diet that keeps her that way– and while Riruka does try and eat as healthy as she can when she has meals, the fact of the matter is: she’s a big eater. Not all at once, usually, but in bites and pieces; snacks and tea with cakes or cookies… whatever strikes her fancy. And yes, she does exercise now and then, though her most rigorous daily activities used to be long, meandering walks and window-shopping excursions. Less prevalent now than they once were are dance sessions, either at her apartment by herself or at a studio, as incognito as she can be. But how is she still so trim despite how relatively little she does in order to keep in shape?          To put it simply: it’s Dollhouse.

BANG ❣–  OR: RIRUKA AND HER (APPARENT) WEAPON OF CHOICE

     It’s obvious enough to look at her that Riruka isn’t the type to get up close and personal in a fight– not only does she not have the raw physical strength for it (for the most part) but she also runs the risk of getting dirty or, heavens forbid, bruised. So it makes sense that her preferred weapon gives her some distance, and helps to keep her out of the enemy’s grasp. Because of the way her Love Gun works, the assumption would likely be that as she can control the size of the items ‘fired’ from it, she’s a terrible shot.          That is as far from correct as can be.          In fact, Riruka’s aim is almost pinpoint accurate, with an unfortunate caveat– it requires that she be wearing her glasses. As that’s something that seldom happens, it’s the reason why her Love Gun is made to compensate for such a considerable change in her ability to aim. Not to say that she can’t aim at all with it– she’s still very capable of leading a target and adjusting fire based on movement and trajectory. It’s simply that without her glasses on, the accuracy of these actions is hampered considerably.          If she sees fit to actually don her spectacles (which she will only do in the most dire of situations, or when she’s certain no one else will see) putting any kind of firearm in her hands is a recipe for trouble for whoever or whatever happens to be on the other side of the barrel. Of course the closer the target, the easier time she’ll have of it, but since she’s not exactly a close-range kind of girl, she’s also very much adept at sniping enemies from a distance, so she’s a very good bit of support for a close range fighter if she actually chooses to be.          Of course, the odds of this happening are slim without interference or a serious request from someone, so it’s not something that most people will ever get the chance to see.

KEEPSAKE❣ OR, ABANDONMENT ISSUES COME STANDARD

     While not lacking at all in self-worth (at least not on the surface, and certainly not without something to dredge the feelings of inadequacy up), Riruka is always leery of her value in the eyes of people she cares about. Strangers and people that are merely a means to an end can think whatever they please about her– they and their opinions only matter so long as she needs something from them. Once that’s done, any slight they might give, any disapproval they might show, means effectively less than nothing to her.

          When it comes to someone she cares about though, that’s another thing entirely.

I know I made a post about this before but for the life of my I can’t find it so-        Riruka knows sign language because of both Tsukishima and Yukio. She learned a bit when she and Tsukishima were young because that was the only way she could get him to talk to her, and she picked it up again when Yukio showed up because he was (and still is, probably) occasionally nonverbal around other people.

Heartsick❣ or the tl;dr Riruka Meta no one asked for

     I’ve been meaning to do something like this, in particular since I was inspired by another post someone made in a similar vein. Because, if I’m honest, I feel like by virtue of her being as minor as she is in the grand scheme of the series, most people don’t really care to give the time of day to seeing past the obvious. So–

     Under a read more for length, but let me try and explain why Riruka is the way she is, and why coming at her as if she’s always highkey looking for a fight really isn’t it.
