By The River Bed
He sits waiting, no one ever told him that he wont be coming back. But he waits, because he made a promise. A promise he has kept since he was nine. Now twelve, he looks across the water, past the bushes, for a hat and a set of boots and a familiar voice.
At 7pm he said, by the riverbed, next to the beaver’s hide.
He would never lie, not to him.
Everyone knows not to step past the river, and don’t even dare go into those woods. no one makes it out dead or alive. no one ever makes it out at all.
Yet he waits, he doesn’t know. he was always by his side, he did not care about anyone or anything else. All he knew was him and his promise. and that was enough to remain by the river bed at 7pm till the stars came out.
no one had the heart to tell him, his older brother won’t be coming back.

Suddenly
because suddenly i feel like writing. to whatever wondering soul that stumbles into this blog; my little blog meant for everyone and no one at the same time.
Life changes, it keeps on moving. the past is gone and it will not be back, you can not change it or erase it. And sure some scars remain, and you will somehow find yourself looking back to a date or time. But, at the end there is nothing you can do to go back, physically go back. regardless of the past being good or bad, there is only ahead to look at. And as much as the future may seem unknown, there is a better chance of you altering it, changing it or create it.
This is something i often forgot about in my youth. i kept looking back, looking back at all the bad things that happen to me, reviving it all in my head as to find an explanation to my pain. I also spent time missing the happy moments in my childhood, memories like pictures nicely framed in my brain. i did learn a lot from looking back, but i forgot to look forward.
i forgot too look forward, i forgot of the possibility of happiness ahead.
don’t forget.

I need to stop fantasizing about running away to some other life and start figuring out the one I have.
