there is a river where my worries

swim, each one an amorphous fish, iridescent and sizeless, changing when i blink

my eyes,

and they always arrive at the forefront of my mind—

sometimes alone, sometimes all at once

Woke up with the loneliness;

                              longing to be                               held,                                             but          out          of                      reach.

Somewhere between dreams and lying awake               in the early A.M.

I ventured within my own skin again.

                               Within the dark,                         too far away;

                                     too

the      touch           of skin would only bring misery;

untouched, I have no comparison           to show how far gone                      I truly am.

It’s hopeless.

          Frustrating.

Better change the tune here within; make the best of things; let a song                       e  c  h  o                                                in the                                 hollow.

Whatever resounds now will benefit from its great acoustics                                                         (cynic).

                            Maybe I’ll be filled         with a foreign feeling                       and live.
