Who would of thought the simblr world could be so toxic....

I’m not the owner of this Tumblr, just a friend who’s helping put the pieces together to find out what happened. As you might of guessed, they did last thing any of us wanted, but they saw no other way out of the darkness. While other things in life were going ever so wrong, they found a way to drown it out with playing the Sims.

As I see it, they made the mistake of creating and interacting with the wrong tumblrs who became very toxic when disagreed with. I read it all, and even I needed a drink after reading it. I can only guess what was said between blocked accounts. 

Very shameful of anyone who took part, deliberately tried to bait them into toxic conversations, or outright told them to do harm to themselves. I hold you responsible for the final thought they used to take their life.

Decorative birds and perches. 

A pirate perch, a Tredony perch and I made a simplified pirate perch as we may not want a skull on top of our birdies at all times.

Four birds: a steam falcon, a parrot (4 colors), a skeleton parrot and a regular falcon (4 colors). They come with open or closed wings but only closed wings birds fit on the perch.

For your historical laundry

Day 15!

Today I give you a set for your historical sims laundry needs. To make use of these, you need the Stuff Pack Laundry Day.

The set includes: 1. An iron pot to wash your laundry in. Mesh from and texture from TSM, converted and edited.

2. A Clothing line to hang your laundry on - in old, reliable wood. You can use it outside or inside. The clothing hanging on the line will have nice, neutral colors.

- 3 different laundry hampers: a - an edited mesh from game, which I always wanted as a functioning hamper.

b - a hamper matching the castle set. Place in bedrooms and bathrooms. Discrete, with a lid so you don’t have to see your dirty laundry.

c - a laundry basket for ordinary sims. Mesh from TSM, edited and adapted. Oh and a file that makes sure your laundry linen keeps their nice neutral hues - overrides for all bright laundry in game, even if you use the clothing lines that came with Laundry Day. Place in mods (Override folder if you have one). If you don’t use this file, the laundry can have its bright colored moments, but once its on the included clothing line, it should have neutral hues. Also overrides the linen piles that are the results of the laundry process. Download and see more pics at my Patreon (always free)

A circled plus-sign icon will appear to the left. Click the plus sign, and four icons will appear.

Click the fourth icon — the gray bar with three white dots — to add a read-more link.

Tumblr inserts a “Keep reading” line. The read-more link is in place.

Publish the post — or queue, schedule or save as a draft.

Update: Tumblr has a keyboard shortcut for the read more link. While in the post form, press Command + Shift + K (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + K (Windows).

1841 ball gown

Some time ago (two weeks? Three? Is time even real?) I received an ask if I could make an 1840s ball gown - and as I’m slowly but steadily falling in love with this decade (so little crazy deco! Such simple patterns!), I decided to really do it. Yes, it’s the same skirt again, I warned you :P. Now that I see it right next to the inspo picture, I probably should’ve made it a bit fuller… Oh well, too late - we have to live with what we’ve got ;).

Comes in 26 swatches, this time only in shiny satin version:

Known problems: some clipping if your sims move their arms too much, especially if they’ve got big breasts and lots of body fat. Also, the ‘collar’ gets a bit deformed while changing the breasts’ size. I did what I could to get rid of both problems and I think it ended up working fairly well, but it’s not perfect. If I ever learn of a way to improve it, you can rest assured - I will ;).

Baltic paintings collection (1890-1918)

Hi everyone!

A couple of days ago I watched a cool documentary about late XIX / early XX century painters from modern day Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, and immediately thought it’d be great to have all those beautiful pictures in The Sims. It took me some time (recolouring is easy, but sooooo booooring!), but they are finally here, ready for you to download!

I used works by the following artists: Janis Rozentāls, Johans Valters, Vilhelms Purvītis, Jūlijs Feders, Rūdolfs Pērle, Pēteris Kalve, Aleksandrs Romans, Nikolai Triik, Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, Konrad Mägi and Kristjan Raud. Found all over the world wide web. Some of them (Kalve, Romans, Triik, Raud) are represented just by a single painting or two, while the rest plays a much bigger role. Of course, all their names are mentioned in the in-game descriptions as well.

Base game compatible (recolours of bg paintings). You can easily find them (just as my other bb items) by typing ‘VS’ in the search box.

There are 5 basic packages: horizontal (54 swatches), narrow (7 swatches), square (12 swatches), vertical (30 swatches) and tall (4 swatches). Watch out: some of the pictures feature nudity. I kept them in the selection, because 1) I have no problem with naked bodies, especially in art; 2) those are cool and at times relatively famous paintings, so it’d be a pity to miss on them. However, I’m aware that some people might have a different view on this, so I made alternative, no nudity versions as well. Don’t download both ‘normal’ and 'nonudity’ versions - the files will conflict! If there’s no 'nonudity’ version of a file, that means there are no nudes included in the basic package and there was no point in making an alternative version.

Just like in case of my previous paintings collection, the horizontal ones are quite small, but can be made bigger with the ] key without loss of quality.

Decades Lookbook: The 1890’s

The 1890′s were a transitional decade from the stiff Victorian Era to a brand new century. Urban centers were growing, and new technologies, such as the introduction of electricity into clothing manufacturing, produced a boom in the ready-to-wear market.

The “New Woman” of the era was an intellectual young woman who worked, cycled, and played sports. She wore skirts that were bell shaped and large sleeves called leg-o-mutton or gigot sleeves. Around 1897, the silhouette began to slowly shift with the introduction of the straight-front corset.

This lookbook is basically an homage to @vintagesimstress and @gilded-ghosts with a liiiittle @linzlu sprinkled on top. If you’ve wanted to start the decade challenge, look no further than these amazing creators!

Hello everyone!

Today I bring you something I’ve been planning on making for ages: an artistic / aesthetic / reform(ish) dress for your sims. It’s not a full blown reform gown - those became the thing only a couple of years later - but it definitely is influenced by the whole dress reform movement. In case you’ve never heard of it - beware! Here comes a tiny ‘history corner’ section:

It all started with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a bunch of artists who found the Victorian fashion - especially female - too stiff and unnatural. They were rather fans of long, flowy, loose medieval and renaissance gowns (as you can easily guess from any of their paintings). And that’s what they were trying to promote; to reform the way women dressed. They weren’t extremely successful at it, as you can see looking at the majority of Victorian fashion plates, but with time the whole idea was getting more and more recognition. There were designers - and brave fashionistas - who liked the whole concept and enjoyed creating (or wearing) what they called ‘artistic’ or 'aesthetic’ dresses. In early 1900s those dresses - now known mostly as 'reform gowns’ - kind of made it to mainstream and even though they never replaced the 'proper’ fashion, they were at times advertised alongside 'normal’ dresses. Judging by how fashion developed in later 1900s and 1910s, I’d say the whole movement did make a difference in fashion history.
