royaldevotion:
Choosing the path less traveled had always seemed to be her style. Ever since he travels with him, it was more likely that she’d be off adventuring where one shouldn’t. Had it been a boost of confidence, or perhaps her strict upbringing caused a yearning for such dangerous outings.
Though intent on making her way to other kingdoms, in some attempt to bring any sort of peace, today seemed it would not be going in her favor. Only having traveled a small distance from the village, coming up to a forked path. One of which was obviously favored, probably safer too. But where would that lead her? Someplace with people of whom she was already aligned! The goal was to make it out, and get to another kingdom so, the path less traveled it was!
Or so she wanted. It wasn’t long into her journey down this path that something, or someone rather, jumped down to block her path.
“I’ll have you know, I’m more than capable of handling myself.” Though her powers were not yet returned to her, and her weapon was nothing more than a mere wooden stick, Garnet still ensured herself that she could very well handle herself.
“The wars are terrible things, and I’ve seen too many suffer from them already…” Was she still talking about these wars, or the war that had gone on back at home? Having lost her mother to such travesty, despite the war being her mother’s fault, still caused the young girl grief.
“You must let me pass! If there is some way for me to reach the other kingdoms, I can surely do something to..” Her words trailed off, her thoughts stealing her attention away from finishing what she was saying. Surely this man would understand, and let her continue on her merry way, right?
Attention swivels back as she speaks, drawing the faeken’s focus and granting him the means to express a curious, “Oh?” Posture eventually comes to change, something more lax with a shoulder rested against the branch the servant held while the arm around it hung loose. Easy to regain if need be, but good enough to hold his weight.
He gives her a once over, a brow quirked as he breathes a low hum. He won’t deny her what capabilities she may hold, but knowing how things were altered and changed within this shifted world of war and kingdoms it didn’t sit right to simply let it be. At least, not here, and not with that determination to go rushing in blindly. She had guts, though. He could respect that.
Caster’s silence finally breaks with a heaved sigh.
“To-- what, exactly? If ya don’t got a solid plan what do you hope to change, don’t be stupid here.” But it was clear this woman was fairly well set in her choice of action, and it wasn’t like he was fully attempting to sway that determination. The warning was given and a piece was said, yet this blockade he created wasn’t quite solid.
He’s lifting a hand to scratch at the back of his neck before long, delivering a low grumble. “Ah, well. If you’re that set on goin’ forward --” Minor compaints are hidden behind a forming grin. “Then don’t go fallin’ behind. I’ve taken the path before, I can at least point ya in the right direction, but try to get your plan of attack in order on the way.”
