Miraculous Ladybug Seasonal Airing Stats !!

Hey guys! I decided because of the general interest surrounding you guys have had about the subject lately with how long season 6 took to air, I’d post the airing timelines of each season that I originally had been keeping track of in a very messy note in my notes app (included under the cut lol)! I just think it’s a neat piece of history and outside of the data I already have, having a post keeping track would also be fun in the long run for future seasons! Lmk if you guys want any stats to be added to this but yeah, here we go!

Season 1

Premiered: September 1st 2015 via EBS1 (South Korea)

Ended: March 19th 2016 via Télé-Quebec (Canada)

Total Airing Time from Premiere to End: 6 months and 18 days

Season 2

Premiered: October 21st 2017 via Disney Channel Spain*

Omg first of all, of course and thank you so much for the thanks!!! As for your question…. I’ve lowkey been itching for someone to ask me this lol.

So this season first premiered January 24th 2025 via the Illustrhater on Gloob (u can see this in the first countdown post here 😋) and, as we know, ended yesterday August 8th 2026, making for a year, seven months, and 15 days to air the entire thing 🫠 And yes, that is actually the longest it has taken for a season of this show to air from its first episode to its last, with the previous record going to season 5 which took a year and 18 days (technically could be a year and 3 months if you count ‘Action’ as the end of the season, but I don’t really consider it such since it’s an environmental psa + outside the usual 26 episode count so eh).

Believe it or not, it is actually also the longest to air if we count things from the end of last seasons episode to the end of this seasons episode (aka taking into account how long it took to premiere as well). Counting from when season 5 ended (Including action this time to be a tad generous) it has taken this season 2 years and 11 months to both premiere and end start to finish, aka basically 3 whole years on the dot. For context on how crazy that is, the 2nd place slot, which goes to season 2, is 2 years and 7 months, meaning this took almost half a year more. Absolutely wild 🫠

Omfg was this season AGONIZING to get through lmao 😭 I’ve dealt with mid season hiatuses plenty of times but I don’t think we’ve ever had to wait this long for the last TWO episodes. However, even with the lengthy waits, after I went ghost before season 5 wrapped up I’m just glad I was able to actually spend every long second of the season with you guys and (mostly) stay on top of things!!! It feels incredible that I had the means to support and interact with you guys more…. we really did it y’all and I love each and every one of you 😋😁❤️

As for things going forward, as I’ve already mentioned I’m going to hold off on the season 7 name change/ rebrand until the French dubs are out for the episodes (I believeee there isn’t an official date for those yet (just some rumors) but I’ll keep y’all posted)!! I also still need to upload Nemesis to the drive, but it should hopefully be up in the next hour or so. Once that’s all wrapped up though, I’ll have a new pinned post to act as a season hiatus quick guide and (try) to post updates on season 7, which as of rn is expected to air in November!!

Oh sorry I totally missed this ask- it's not inappropriate at all! Anything to do with watch order/catching up on the show is hella encouraged on here, it's a big reason why I even run this blog in the first place! :)

But to answer your question, first and foremost before you watch season 6, you NEED to have watched the London Special, as it sets up the entire central conflict for the season/acts as a bridge between seasons 5 and 6. That is an absolute MUST!!!!

Other than that though, there's also the Tokyo Special, but that's a tad different bc while it also takes place chronologically before season 6, it isn't as plot heavy (+ it came out like halfway through season 6 airing) so honestly if you wanted to procrastinate on it for a bit I think you'd be fine lol. That's all on specials tho, so after that ur good to watch the season!

so season 6 finally ends next week, and (supposedly) season 7 starts releasing November 20th. is that the shortest we've ever had to wait between seasons?

Believe it or not, no actually! That award for sure goes to the gap between seasons 2 and 3, with season 2 ending in November of 2018 and season 3 premiering December 2018, making it a one month turnaround!!

It’s also technically won’t even be the 2nd shortest gap- that would be the gap between seasons 4 and 5, with season 4 ending in March 2022 and Season 5 premiering June 2022. I suppose both that gap and this upcoming one are 3 months, but the season 4-5 gap was 3 months and 3 days and the season 5-6 gap will be (assuming it airs on the projected date ofc) 3 months and 12 days 🤓☝️

For fun, while I don’t have posts for the season 2/3 gap because I didn’t start the blog until part of the way into season 3, here’s the last season 4 countdown post from this blog, the post where I find out the season 5 was airing in June, and the post we got the season 5 premiere date for some nostalgia/ real time history lmao.
