elisabeth-of-burgundy:
“Oh I certainly do, it can be very entertaining as well as insightful. I wish you would feel strongly about my mother- in front of her,” she giggled. “If a wedding is involved, then I will certainly be there. Especially if it is to be held in France. I have always thought that the French are rather gifted at celebrating. And I suppose we are cousins of a sort.” Indeed, the royals of Burgundy were a branch of the Capetian monarchy, the previous monarchy of France before the Kings of Valois. “Do not fear, my dearest friend. I will not stay there for long as I am sure the King and Queen will have more important things to do. But I suppose my mother will expect me to visit more frequently from then onwards. And I suppose the Prince will have to visit his future kingdom at some point too. There is so much to discuss! We must have one of our sleepovers again. The winter brings darker evenings which are just another excuse to withdraw earlier- otherwise mother will question you for hours about what is going on in France. The servants can bring delicious treats to our room- just like when we were children.”
“Perhaps with a couple more glasses of wine, we shall get lucky with my temper when your mother returns -- although I’m sure that my father wouldn’t be happy receiving an angry letter from her as consequence.” Genevieve said, thinking it would be rather funny to be straight with Elisabeth’s controlling mother. Gen rolled her eyes, taking a seat next to Elisabeth, “The french are most definitely gifted at celebrating. Sometimes I think we’d be better off if we weren’t so predisposed to throw grand and elaborate celebrations. Her assurances meant a lot to Genevieve for she didn’t want to think about an extended period of time when she would not be able to hear about her close friend’s life and adventures. “Well let us get this get together officially started, then. What would you like to know? What huge secrets do you know/understand?” Gen asked, sipping her drink, as her inquisitive eyes kept looking towards Elisabeth in her.
