God Motherfucking Damn It, Hussie!

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuckity fuck fuck FUCK!!

Just when I think I’m over and done and out of this god forsaken fandom cult bullshit, whatever Homestuck fucking is now, Hussie just has to yank on my fucking chain and pull me right back fucking in it again!

The literal SECOND I think about abandoning this project for good because I’m “just not into it anymore” I read them damn epilogues and I’m all just “god DAMN IT! I’ve been pulled back into this fucking dumpster fire again!”

And guess what!!

Thats exactly what fucking happened!!

Because of Hussie! And the fact that my moirail ACTUALLY FUCKING AGREED TO READ THIS HEAPING PILE OF FLAMING SHIT.

This was originally gonna be a post saying “hey, sorry. Can’t do this project anymore,” but now it’s a post about “hey; guess who’s back and we’re gonna be changing a few fuckin things.”

The project is still gonna happen, as I previously stated. But I’m gonna change a few things. Namely that being the datable characters and when/where this will be taking place.

It will probably all take place on Earth C after the events of Sburb/SGrub and Before/Alternate Timeline of the Epligues where, naturally, none of the shit in the Epilogues happened.

Think of it as... another epilogue, I guess where you exist.

The characters who will be datable are gonna be the Alpha and Beta Kids, Kanaya, Karkat, Terezi, (Vriska). Maybe Callie. Maybe Meenah. I haven’t decided on them yet. Maybe even Aradia and Sollux.

A nice, round, 12-16 number of characters instead of twenty freaking four. That was too much and put way to much pressure on me.

I might try to make it as meta as the epilogues, I might not. Hell this project could go into an entirely different level of dumpster fire then the original comic, but there’s only one friggin way to find that out!

And that’s by actually doing it.

Also I’m not gonna rush myself. I’m not gonna put and deadlines on when I’m gonna finish the script or have character sprites done by. I’m not gonna be looking for voice actors for a while until the script is finished and we’re ready to start programming.

I’m not even sure if this project will even have a demo or live up to your expectations. It might not. But I will definitely try.

I do know one thing for absolute certain though...

Its gonna be on fucking fire. Like the dumpster we all call home...stuck...

Okay, after taking a tally of who on the crew I still had and what positions I needed to fill, I have come to the conclusion that I need Artists (two or three, preferably so the work isn’t all put on one person) and a programmer.

Hey Guys!

It’s Ash, the leader of the Homestuck Dating Simulator project!

I’ve been getting a bunch of questions about this project, such as, if this is still a thing and if I could release the script. Well, I’d like to put these questions to bed. 

Yes, this project is still a thing. 

No, I will not release the script. 

Having said that,, since this project has been on hiatus for nearly two years now, I’ve decided that I’m going to make a few changes. After I first started this project, it’s gone through two revamps, from a huge crew of people who worked on this that I couldn’t keep track of to a mere five people, a few we have lost for various reasons, and a whole cast of voice actors until finally, what I hope, will be the third and final change. 

Third time’s a charm, right? 

Anyway, through this experience, I’ve noticed I’ve made a few mistakes in my managerial tactics. Such as, taking on much to much work by myself. Not only was I writing the script, but I was managing the voice actors and translators and the crew ON TOP OF programming the game. 

I’m not going to do that anymore. 

So here is what is going to change. 

1. The script is getting an overhaul. A COMPLETE redo. Since it’s been dead for so long, I’ve totally lost interest in the current script and story line.Writing it has become work and that’s not what writing is to me. It’s much too bland for Homestuck. So here’s what I’m going to do. I’m asking all of you fans of the game, followers of this blog, to flood the ask inbox with your ideas of what YOU want to see in this game.

Your tumblr URL (or name if you prefer) will be put into the credits of the final game under a tag specifically for you guys: Inspiration. So send them to us. No one idea is going to win and no idea is a bad one, so seriously, flood the askbox with them. I want to hear your thoughts and opinions.

You guys are our inspiration for this project. We’re doing this for you. <3

The ask box will be open for these suggestions for quite some time, starting now. I’ll make a post when I close it but it probably won’t be for like… a month or so.

2. As I mentioned before, I need to take a step back and only work on two things, that being the script and writing it, and managing the cast and crew. So, that being said, we are in desperate need of a programmer. If there are any fans/followers of this blog, who know their way around any of the programming languages, be that C++, Java, Python, ~ATH or whatever, please, I’m begging you, drop me a line. I’m desperate here. If you have any skills programming, please email me at  [email protected]. 

That would be much appreciated and I will honestly love you forever. 

3. There are several asks in my ask box about auditions. Currently we are not holding them for obvious reasons and some that I have to explain. Honestly, while I love having messages in the ask box, please stop. When and if we hold auditions again, there will be a formal post about it. 

As for the reasoning as to why we don’t have the auditions open, here you go. Right now, since the script is getting an overhaul and I had a cast, I need time to get everything sorted again. But once I finish the script, see which cast and crew members are still interested/able to work on this project and get a programmer for the game, I will reopen auditions. But only for the cast members that we will need. 

4. Sometime in the near future, I will probably be making a discord server for Homestuck, partly for this game, mostly for the community and so you guys can get my ass in gear. It’ll be a community discord server with many channels and hopefully a good place for old Homestuck’s and new to get to know each other and then eventually get to know the cast and crew more, once everything is more ironed out. 

If you could, let me know how you guys feel about this idea of opening up a discord channel. 

That’s all I really have to say right now about the project and consideration of what’s going on as a whole. Send in your ideas for the game if you have any, keep sending us love and hopefully by next Summer, 2019, ‘ll have the crew I need, a finished script, and will be ready to look for new cast members.

I seriously need help...

I don’t normally do this, but… I need help. I got into a serious car accident and I need money to help me get a new one as well as pay for my college tuition as I’m having serious difficulties getting a student loan. I was leaving work yesterday, headed to a function I go to every Friday night when traffic stopped short. The guy in front of me managed to make the stop, however, I was not so lucky. Thankfully no one was hurt and the guy I hit isn’t going through insurance, however, because of this car accident, I have to sink money into either a car that  isn’t worth fixing or get a new car. Which means that I have even less money to help me pay for my schooling this next semester, my last semester. I have a little money saved up, but not enough to either fix or get a different car, which is why I need help. My college expenses are nothing to sneeze at either, which is why I’m here, praying for help. I need the funds as soon as possible, to help me get back on my feet before the semester starts on January 14th. So please help if you have money to share. Every little bit helps. it is awesome you are still in the making! at first i thought the project was over! i am currently trying to make a game for homestuck of my own, any advice? i plan to use ren'py.

Get yourself a good crew and don’t take on too much work yourself. My biggest mistake was trying to bite off more then I can chew and I’m paying for it. 

Also don’t give up.

This game is indeed still in the making. However the members of the crew are currently trying to get this shit together to actually work more earnestly on this game. I just opened up a new writing blog and this is it!! My main blog is here but it got so crowded with posting a bunch of things that I decided to make a blog for my writing. Needless to say, I’ll post my writing here.

How's it going?

Honestly, not very well. 

I ain’t gonna sugar coat it. We lost a member of our team back in September for reasons that are unimportant. We lost several voice actors, and I still have yet to contact to make sure they left the project and then find new ones. I have been super stressed out because I have bills to pay but my job isn’t scheduling me so a lot of my free time has been spend trying to find a new better paying job. I haven’t sent out the script to the translators yet, even though I said that I would do so almost a month ago. Programming hasn’t progressed any because of my stress levels and right now. It’s just a mess. 

In all honesty, I might start looking for a separate programmer, but I’m not sure yet. (please don’t spam our inbox with asks looking to be the games programmer.)

This game might turn into the new Kingdom Hearts III (if you know what I mean.) Hopefully things will calm down soon (In the next month or so hopefully) and I can get back on top of everything else.

so there’s something i wanna add to this, my laptop got broken about 5 months ago and id been working on getting another one and only recently did i succeed. now comes the problem, my hard drive suffered a catastrophic hardware error and i lost all the music files except for the ones for the demo. so now i have to recreate all the music, but its not all bad since i was planning on revamping all the songs for official release. but yeah, things arent going super great on my front either.

Take all the time you need to get things ironed out! You're more important than a game, and if you need to take a brief break to get your life back together, then that's fine. We'll wait as long as we need to, because at the end of the day you're making us something for free that we all want to be the absolute best. And that means the devs and staff need to take care of themselves so they can be at their best first.
