Okay, friends, I need some help.

A friend of mine saw a friend who does not speak Spanish circulating these two memes, trying to be helpful. Here’s the problem - the advice in Spanish DOES NOT MATCH the English AT ALL. In Spanish, the people are advised to invite ICE in, be honest and calm, and to instruct all family members to tell the truth. At the end, they are told their cooperation is appreciated. They are not advised of their rights, to request a warrant. The advice amounts to giving themselves up.

If you look closely at the bottom, you’ll see that the English version is from the ACLU. The Spanish version says “ALCU”.

Be aware of the information you share - it may not be helpful!

THAT SAID, the help I request is this:

Can you please translate the top text that’s in English into Spanish too, please? I’d like to give it to K to put on Facebook so that people can share a fully useful post with Spanish “this is fake, here’s what people are trying to do” because without an explanation of how the images are different, if a Spanish only speaker sees it then K is just accidentally sharing bad information, if that makes sense?

I am from Hong Kong. As you may not know, this is a special administration region of China. We (still) have our own legal system, and freedom of speech, that’s why I can access to everywhere in the internet without censorship (I get ask a lot). Recently, over a million of people are protesting against the Extradition Law. It was an extremely-almost-impossible fight and many students are injured horribly by the police force. I WAS THERE.

If the extradition law is passed, which means that China can “took” anyone from Hong Kong back to China as “prisoners”. Oh you don’t wanna know what China will do to those innocent people …

The government is forcing the law on us. We couldn’t do this on our own. We need more attention from other countries. Please spread this message out.

in 4th grade i made some diorama for a class project a book and i read some book of greek myths cuz clash of the titans was the shit and some jesus girl was talkin shit during my presentation saying i shouldnt call them gods cuz only jesus or some bullshit. Thanks to the magic of gerrymandering, whoever’s in charge of the state during redistricting has a ton of power.

Republicans focusing on taking control of state legislatures because people don’t pay attention to them and gerrymandering to give themselves the advantage is a major part of what got us where we are now.

So if you can, pay attention to state legislature races and vote down the ticket. The districts are often small and races are often decided by a couple hundred or even a few dozen votes, so in a lot of cases it can be totally doable to flip a seat.
