kai was born in chicago, he grew up there up until he was 15
his parents divorced when he was 15, it honestly took him by surprise bc they really played it off well?? like everything was Fine but it wasn’t so it was a sudden change for kai he just didn’t see that coming and it was just so surreal for him
his mom came out as a lesbian a few years before that to his dad only, it was a whole process of coming to terms with it and just figuring stuff out before she made any decisions, until the day came where she was just ready to live her life. she loved them both so much but for obvious reasons she just couldn't continue with them
so that's when kai and his dad moved to irving, he loves his dad but he absolutely hated the idea of moving and leaving his mom behind so he was REALLY upset about it, like full on angsty teen
like, black eyeliner, black clothes and headphones on, not saying a single word the whole ride to irving
high school sucked, he moved from a private one to the public system, he obviously didn't know anyone and honestly he didn't even try to get to know anyone at first bc he was just in a Mood, until around junior year when he realized he was stuck here he was like mm ok maybe I can make a few friends I guess
he was going to move back to chicago for college, but after his junior summer vacation when he went up there to visit his mom he realized how much he missed his dad. like he was just used to their little routine and stuff and his mom was doing so good unlike his dad, he just kinda felt bad
so for college he really had a complete glowup, angsty teen who?? kai became more open and easier to be around with, he actually put in an effort to like it here bc this was his reality now, so if you knew him before that, no you didn't <3
personality wise, he's an idiot. like he's really good at some very specific things and he's charming so you probably won't notice it at first but once you hang out with him long enough eventually he'll just be like "hey how many fingers does a chicken have ??"
he majored in audiovisual communication, he loves photography and is pretty decent. currently he's working for a small studio in the city and he just does a little bit of everything, from your typical wedding photography to editing youtubers content. it's not great but it's ok, rn he's just vibing with it as he recently just graduated
