Emilia was happy to hug her tightly before sitting down across from her friend, “Oh hush, you look incredible – there’s no need for that.” As the waitress entered, Emilia ordered herself a coffee before making sure Brie didn’t need another drink, “How’re you? Tell me everything – what’s new?” 

Brie settled back in her seat and topped up her tea from the tea pot on the table in front of her. She stirred her drink as Emilia placed her order, but once the waitress was gone, Brie fixed her attention solely on her friend. “I’m good. Enjoying this brief break in the Kong promo train before heading over to Mexico for the next premiere. How about you, honey? How’s things with you?”

To be fair, I’m constantly rummaging through my sister’s wardrobe. Now, favourite designers: I’d go with Tom Ford, Oscar de la Renta and Ralph & Russo. How about you?

I wasn’t presenting or anything so I stayed home since I had my kids for the night. I wish I could have seen the madness backstage when they realized what happened.

I bet it was madness. I was sat in the main theatre when it happened but I heard there was a lot of commotion and shouting!

With Kit too wrapped up in work to actually hang out, Emilia had more time than she thought to meet up with other people. It was exciting to be able to see Brie sooner than the two imagined, but it worked out so well Emilia couldn’t have said no even if she’d wanted to. Quickly heading to meet up with her new-ish friend, Emilia potted her in the cafe and grinned, moving up to her and humming, “Good morning, Darling!” 

“Good morning,” Brie called out as Emilia entered the tea shop, looking as gorgeous as ever. Brie got up from her seat as Emilia came over and held out her arms for a hug. “You look amazing as always,” Brie said with a smile for her friend.

But yeah, the whole Best Picture thing was so awkward. I think I even slid down in my seat while watching in the audience! How come you didn’t go?
