Seo Ah hesitated for a moment. Which reaction suited most for this situation? A laugh, a sigh, a look, a roll of the eyes, an awkward pause? The soloist didn’t know exactly, even if she expected that kind of answer from him. He was such a prankster, finding creative ways to lighten up the mood or crush it into pieces. There was no in between with him.
Maybe she should go with silence, drinking what remained of her beverage that she ordered not long after meeting him by chance– that wouldn’t advance the conversation though.
“You pretended to be a cute cat, I guess. From the new nickname you earned, that is.” She came up with those words right before taking a sip of her green tea frappe. “What was the barista’s reaction to your aegyo? A positive one? I hope you didn’t give them a heart attack for suddenly doing that.”
Henry doesn’t even realize how ridiculous his story sounds until Seo Ah responds with nothing but silence for a moment. Fair enough, he did kind of make a fool out of himself again — but since it earned him a quick cup of coffee and he managed to make a few people laugh, in the end it was all worth it. Still with a sheepish grin on his lips, he shrugs a shoulder and then lets out a quiet chuckle. “You guessed right. Didn’t even have to try too hard for the cute part,” he jokingly adds.
“The barista? She loved it! ... I mean, I think so.” Henry frowns for a second, but then offers the female another amused smile. “She even took a selfie with me, but I was acting normal again on that one. I mean, as normal as I can be ... You know me.”
After a final sip, his Starbucks cup is empty and he tosses it into the nearest trash can before turning to Seo Ah again. “What are you up to, anyway? How have you been? Are you going somewhere?” That’s definitely too many questions in one go, but to be fair there’s a lot of catching up to do between the two artists.
