Danny Fenton Social Link (Moon)
“Oh uh... I...”
Danny appears to be holding a newspaper. He seems to be conflicted about what’s written on it.
Spend the afternoon talking to Danny?
Rank 7
Fentonworks. You and Danny are talking about the news article featured on the front page of the paper he’s holding.
“Okay, I know what this looks like.”
The newspaper article has a photo of Danny’s alter ego pictured on the front. The image is blurry and distorted, but it shows him in the middle of fleeing a scene.
The headline reads “Masked Phantom Strikes Again.”
You’re using your powers?
What did you do!?
“I-I know this looks really bad, but I can explain!” Danny stutters.
“So, yeah... I may have kind of sort have been using my powers since the incident at the mall...” Danny slowly begins admitting.
“But not for evil! I swear, I’d never do that. I’ve been using them to stop crimes. You know, freeze the tires of getaway cars or trap the criminals until the cops can get them. It’s not the best way of doing things, but-”
Slow down, I’m not upset! +1
You found a use for them outside destroying things. +3
You have always had a comic book hero feel in our group.
“I....” Danny seems to loosen up hearing you say this..
“I knew you’d understand. Yeah, I found a use for them I can be proud of.” He’s smiling widely now. He doesn’t smile that genuinely very often, so it’s quite the sight.
“I’ve been using my powers to stop criminals around town,” he continues. “Ever since the incident at the mall, I’ve just stepped in to help when I could, as Phantom.”
“I’m not to sure if everyone’s very keen on me yet, being some unnatural, masked entity running around town. There’s a bunch of negative criticism in the media about “Phantom” and people are scared of me.”
“Even my parents are in on the hunt for Phantom, seeing as he’s... I’m, a shadow, even if only partway, Things have gotten really awkward between me and them since... er... even more than usual.”
Maybe you should tell them.
Are you sure you should keep a secret this big? +1
You’re still afraid, aren’t you. +2
“Yeah... I guess that’s just the irony of it, huh? I’m the one who’s the monster, and yet I’m scared...”
“Scared is understating it. I’m terrified of what my parents would do to me if they catch me. I’m the monster, attacking the monster is what the hero does, right?”
“Don’t go trying to correct me on this. I’m the inhuman freak, right? I have unnatural powers from another dimension and it doesn’t matter what I do with them. I’m wrong. I’m broken... I can’t make any difference in how people see me...”
Made a difference to the team. +3
Made a difference to the people you helped. +3
“That’s...” Danny blanches a moment, considering what you’ve told him. His time with the Heroes of Justice and what he’s begun doing with his powers as of late.
“You’re right,” he finally decides. “You’re right.”
“I should stop thinking so hard about what other people think of me. I should worry more about what I think of me.”
Danny appears to have come to a revelation regarding his self-image.
“I’m going to keep going with the vigilante thing,” He declares firmly to himself. “I’m going to learn to like myself and my powers, and I’m going to do the right thing.”
He gives you another smile, full of confidence.
"I want to be someone I can be proud of. No more, wimpy, silent and brooding Danny Fenton. I want to truly accept myself. Thanks for helping me get this far, Team Captain.”
You can feel Danny’s gratitude. He’s set on following your example in accepting everything about who he is.
You feel your relationship with Danny has grown deeper.

“Hey. Let’s go into the Shadow Zone more often. I want to be the best I can be at this, so I’m gonna train to hone my powers.”
After discussing plans to train in the Shadow Zone, you wave goodbye to Danny and head home.
