The music was bumping, as it always was this time of the night, but Hera’s colleagues had disappeared in the mess of bodies tangled on the dance floor. While she was no stranger to letting loose or strange hands roaming the curves of her body, squeezing wherever they thought they had the right to, tonight she wanted to have something halfway meaningful. Carefully making her way through the bustling crowd to the almost as busy bar, she planted herself between two strangers. She’d asked the taller of the two, and far more approachable, if he was having a good time and his answer or… lack of… was more than enough information.
Leaning against the bar so she was watching the crowd and her friends, elbows resting along the polished surface, she nodded as a silence fell between them. She’d hoped that her attire might earn some sort of attention. Her usual scrubs had been replaced by a sparkly shirt with a v so deep she was concerned her nipples might actually pop out. Thank the Gods for double sided tape. Pursing her lips, trying to determine whether or not to join in on the dancing, her thoughts were interrupted by what she thought was a pickup line. Her lips parted in a bright laugh, a smile setting on her parted lips as she turned to face the man. Her brow arched, watching as, she could only assume, he tried to drown his embarrassment behind a drink.
“Often enough to spot a new face.”
Her voice was light, though their were flirtatious undertones to it as her bright eyes scanned the man beside her. Turning so she was leaning against the bar, thankful for the heels that pushed her up so she didn’t have to strain to lean against it. She ordered herself the same drink and turned to face the man. Leaning in close, letting her body brush against his arm, she tried not to shout right in his ear.
“I’m Hera. By the way.”
Thankfully she accepted his offer of buying her a drink and ordered the same thing that Marcus had, it amused him just a bit and he smirked softly as the glasses of Scotch and another round of beer was placed before him. The drinks wasn’t the only thing making him smirk, this Hera had sidled up to him rather close and that boosted his confidence despite his lame attempt at flirting. It had been far too long since Marcus had even thought about going out, fortunately, he had his looks and some people found his short comings endearing, as Lana had put it.
Taking his glass of Scotch in his one hand opposite the arm that she had brushed against in order to speak over the loud music. The liveliness of the place made it painfully obvious why this was one of Lana’s recommended spots, it wasn’t completely up to Marcus’ standards, he preferred things a little more quiet but that was perhaps because he had lived with such a loud mouth for so long he cherished the silence now.
Marcus considered her, smiling at her and sipping at his Scotch, letting it burn his lips and tongue before taking a good drink to savor the taste. He may not have frequented bars or clubs like his sister but he shared her choice liquor, when it wasn’t wine, that was--- the French loved their wine and the twins were no different, although this time around Marcus had opted for beer knowing he would eventually be drinking Scotch in addition.
“Hera, the Queen of Gods,” Marcus mused, setting his Scotch down and offering her his warm hand. “Lovely to meet you, I’m Marcus.” It was something he could sense, when something was bad for him, perhaps not her entirely, but he could tell that she was trouble and although he was more reserved and private, Marcus was just as ambitious and impulsive as his twin sister. His dark gaze almost seemed to darken as he took her in, swallowing and nodding. “What are your plans for the night?” Because Marcus certainly hoped he was in them.

Bradley had always been the studious type, long before he wanted to become a Doctor and certainly well before he’d been changed to a creature of the night. Although, he had found avenues that allowed him to trek through the day, he still worked nights-- in the ER for the most part. But the reason he was stuck between the shelves of a bookstore was only partially medically oriented, Bradley had another patient, one of the supernatural type and something he was broadening his knowledge on. It was an odd case and although he was no where near as knowing in the species than he was others, say his own kind, Bradley was determined to solve this case.
The trouble was, he couldn’t find information and either he was tired, despite his inability to sleep, or he was simply overlooking any books pertaining to the thing he wanted. Sighing in defeat he wandered the other shelves, looking for a worker or the front desk, finally coming upon what he sought Bradley flashed an almost apologetic smile at them, waving one hand before he spoke. “So sorry to bother you, could you help me?” He paused and glanced around, wondering if he’d have to go through another channel for the information he sought.

“Honestly, it’s my sister that frequents these parts more than me,” Marcus mused, Lana, his twin, was more social than he was. But that was entirely his own fault, although Marcus had no problem actually talking to people or even being social, he wasn’t as flamboyant as the other wolf. The tall dark haired man shifted back on his stool, bringing his beer to his lips and taking a generous drink before watching the bartender take a patron who seemed far too drunk to begin with. Lana had always been the party person and although Marcus had his fair share of parties under his belt, they were well before the modern times had complicated his life.
Business was different now, it was all online and even though Marcus prided himself on keeping up with the way things changed over the times, it was a frustration that would never cease to complicate his business. Importing and exporting, various items, it was his main goal to get the young generations to find interest in his products. Being stressful, he found himself at a bar that had been in the area for some time, when Lana had been more frequent with her visits between aiding this rebel group she found herself so preoccupied with in New Orleans, she had said this very bar was a wonderful spot to hang out.
“What about you? Come here often?” Rusty, he was so fucking rusty, after the words left his lips Marcus almost immediately regretted them, so he washed them down with another drink, finishing off his beer and pushing it to the edge of the bar for another. “A shot of Scotch, too, dry--- Do you want anything?” He offered as a cover up, glancing to the person he’d tried to make conversation with.

The subway would be crowded, no one wanted to walk in the rain that was coating the city. Draven had his hood up, although, it didn’t do much as it was now soaked as he made his through the crowd and onto the train that had pulled up to the station. Posing himself near the door and against a pole there, glancing around the train as he pulled his hood down and tugged his pack of cigarettes out of his pocket. There was a no smoking sign just behind him and several other places on the train, but Draven didn’t care, even though someone coughed loudly as he lit up the thing and they gestured to the sign behind him. Dray snorted, shifting away from the person but not putting out the cigarette.
Today was a simple mission, there was a pawn shop across town that had come upon something one of his many employers was interested in, somehow Draven became the pick up and delivery boy, but hey, he got part of the cut and really didn’t have anything else to do that day. A chill went down his spine and he shook it off, instinctively glancing about the train once more, a bit slower, he felt eyes on him--- taking another drag of his cigarette, ignoring the man who made another comment about it.

Xavier is just another man she has wrapped around her finger - they are all so easy once you learn and know what gets them going. Hes attractive, and something she once longed to break like all the rest. But with everything that has happened recently and his own personal sway - Selina is off her game. And it is all she can do to keep her glamour spell in place just long enough to get to her suite.
Eyes stay transfixed upon his mouth as its gently pressed to the soft skin of her fingertips. The hum sends a shiver through the witch, and breath hitches in her throat. Surely he knows even from their very first encounter how well and easily he manages to affect her. She snickers at his comment, eyes rolling up. “Of course it is, how could I forget?” He had told her that before - but she herself was not a fan of something that tasted so…bitter.
His admittance thrills a fogged mind and curiosity gleams in her eyes - “What exactly do I smell like?” She’d bathed earlier in rose water and her own personal concoction of calming herbs, but she knew it had to be more than just that. And then as quickly as both their minds seemed to drift, Selina was back in the now. She glances toward the keypad again, the number 7 gleaming but stubbornly not moving up to the next. The sensation of acceleration is no longer beneath their feet.
“ I think…we might be here a while.”
He was sure his touch was searing, it felt that way as he became intensely aware of their closeness, the fluttering in his system wasn’t always so easily caused. Just as it had been the first time, there was a draw between the two that Xavier just couldn’t deny, his gaze was contemplating and almost searching, as if trying to figure out what was troubling her. The breaking of their gazes as she turned to glance at the control panel threw him off a bit, made him recollect his thoughts, but it was so damn hot and he was finding it increasingly difficult to keep himself in check, as if he were already drunk off of her.
What did she smell like? What did she taste like? The questions made him ponder, dropping his gaze from the panel to her neck. “That’s fine with me,” he said, voice lusty and smirk suggestive, as he tilted his head some repeating her question. “What do you smell like?” Xavier watched her for a moment before he let his arm tighten around her waist some, dropping his face down to let his lips hover just barely a few inches from her neck, pausing before he took a slow inhale and closed his eyes for a moment. Besides delicious he caught the hint of rose, something he recalled the last time he inhaled her scent this deeply. Xavier couldn’t help it as he let his lips graze lightly over her soft neck, almost teasing but also wary, he didn’t wish to take advantage of her, of course, he was sure she’d not let such things happen if she truly didn’t want them.
Xavier inhaled one last time before pulling back to lock his gaze with hers, “---roses and herbs, the sweetness of that wine, and.... desire,” he smirked, eyes darkening with nothing short of lust, the man... the wolf just couldn’t control himself around this woman. Something he’d not experienced so intensely in such a long time, even violence had long since lost it’s usual thrill-- but somehow this woman, this incredible creature brought more life to him than anything had in a long while. He drew in once more, this time closer to her ear than her neck, his breath hot as he spoke again. “I’d like to know how you taste--”
