I have been so disappointed to see people quick to believe that Hudson is attached to this account, which uses problematic language in its bio. It is a private account with no additional posts indicating that Hudson is truly involved with it at all. This is all coming from Twitter/X sleuths claiming to have suddenly discovered this account out of nowhere, after months of meticulous work by numerous people dissecting the digital footprint of this man and anyone he has ever met.
I am especially concerned to see this attack launched at the lead cast member who is a POC. This is straight out of Pedagogy of the Oppressed. Dominant groups actively create and exploit internal rifts. By breaking up an oppressed majority into smaller, competing communities or factions, they ensure that the groups focus on inter-group conflicts rather than uniting against the oprressive group.
I say this as a Black woman that we have to stop allowing our cause and generational pain to be weaponized, especially by those who are trying to sow division and foster further racism in our name with no real interest in supporting us.
While we don't need to cape for anyone and everyone, we can't be gullible enough to allow ourselves to be triggered to attack others without real evidence. We've already seen elements of this account be debunked - all Hudson's friends weren't following it (some even said Ksenia and Sophie followed it- that's how crazy it's been), the account was based in the US, which makes no sense, and whoever accessed it was actively updating it last night with random words and photos before they deleted it. IG accounts can be easily faked, hacked, and screenshots can be photoshopped. And this story was pushed by Francois fans who have been vocal about trying to find a way to harm Hudson for months, especially after yesterday's potential revelations about Hudson's sexuality that does not fit their narrative.
We all should know better by now.
If new evidence presents itself, I am happy to revisit this, but Hudson has shown us who he is - his team is largely comprised of people of color, and he has been vocal about anti-racism and bigotry in the past - before he was famous.
Why would we be so quick to judge something that, as far as we know, has no evidence beyond Twitter and fandom craziness against a POC that we know has actively been targeted by bad elements in the fandom?
Do not allow others to weaponize our trauma for their selfish and frivolous gains.
Honestly, if it is not true, I would be surprised if any statement was made at all because it would draw attention to these people and make the story grow, which is what they want. You don't feed the beast.
