Miniature portraits of Grand Duchesses Maria and Anastasia Nikolaevna alongside the hospital where they visited injured soldiers during WWI by artist Vasili Zuev, set in a pink enamel Faberge frame

The caption alongside translates as: ‘‘In this frame of pink enamel, on a surface guilloched by the sun's rays, there are two miniatures by the artist Vasily Zuev: Grand Duchesses Maria and Anastasia and the [Feodorovsky Hospital] House of Mercy, in which they helped the suffering.”

Zuev painted multiple miniatures of the Imperial Family, often set into Faberge jewellery or items. This miniature of the Grand Duchesses from this piece has sometimes been attributed to being from a Faberge Egg or lost.

A few months ago, after a little searching, I at last found the full piece!
