The one that gets me the most is the two most basic yet extremely contradictory virtues of the religion. Supposedly their god’s love is unconditional, yet the very same god would cast their supposed children into eternal torture simply for not worshipping them. And that somehow doesn’t raise a single red flag to their brainwashed masses.

An unfortunate truth, especially given the reputation of my Coven. It started with War and his beauty.

His harsh eyes and his cold words, the way he always carries a weapon. He’s turned armies with a flick of wrist, destroyed ancient colonies and tribes for the fun of it and despite all of this, his hands lack any blisters or marks, no, they are merely covered in blood.

Then came Famine, in his sickly way.

He’s too thin and his bones can be seen shifting beneath pale skin. There is no beauty here, never was. His hunger is constant, it even rivals Gluttony.

Then there was Pestilence.

There’s no way to describe him, he isn’t beautiful nor hideous, he simply is. There is a tarnish to his milky eyes and to his bloody lips. Always bleeding, always coughing up bile and blood-filled mucus. There is no cure for him, he has every disease and he unnaturally lives despite that.

Lastly, the one who is feared the most, the one with more stories and more wills against him.

Lastly, there is Death.

He is a combination of all his brothers, somehow he is Famine and War and Disease. He is the most beauteous of all.

Fearing him is unnatural, not for his beauty, merely because he is inevitable.

He is the hardest to escape, the hardest to run from.

These are the Horsemen of the Apocalypse and they are on the edge of your vision because they are here.
