Absolutely loving the fact that Goh’s support and excitement about Ash’s battles went from a “maybe I’ll be there” kind of thing in episode 7 (granted he was upset about his battle)...

... to a full on wouldn’t miss it for the world kind of support.

But one thing hasn’t changed, and it’s his admiration for Ash’s battles and the inspiration he gets from them. He’s grown so much character wise and continues to do so 🥺

Also something cool I noticed is that in episodes 7, 25, and 60 (there might be more I’m missing), it’s always sunset when he compliments Ash about his battles. The lighting and mood just always feels a little more warm and kinda romantic, ya know? Although maybe it’s just me overthinking

I thought "oh wouldn't it be fun if Ash and Gou did the Team Rocket motto" and then I remembered this Very Crucial part of the animation

So I was going to do an analysis on how Gou is animated as a whole and how it very subtly pushes the androgynous agenda but then I got caught up with this screencap, as ya do, and my sister suggested I compare it to a similar shot of Team Rocket:

And what I realized was that Jessie and James tend to be similarly exaggerated whenever they do a classic Fear Hug, both in their expression and posture. This is decidedly not the case with Ash and Gou.

While Ash is drawn in the comical way you would expect a fear hug to be, Gou is considerably less so, and leans into the hug rather than copying Ash's pose. This plays into how Gou is animated compared to Ash in general, but mostly I just wanted to point out how cute it was that they decided to make the hug look more sincere on Gou's end
