TW: This post contains sensetive contents like; Throwing up, PTSD, Su/cidal thoughts, and possibly slight gor3
*please do not read this if you are senseyive to these topics!*
Anansi woke up from her sleep to find ondine gone from her side. She sighs.
"Dang it..."
She gets up to try and find Ondine, but then falls to her knees from a sharp pain in her stomache.
'Ugh... I'm so hungry... When did I last eat...?'
Anansi had been so busy trying to help her friends she forgot to eat for... who knows how long?
She runs put of Ondine's dorm room to go to the bathroom. When she reaches it she imedietly throws up.
'How the hell am I throwing up when I haven't eaten anything...?!' Anansi thought to her self and growned.
After throwing up, Anansi sat on the floor of the toilet stall at thought about what had happened since the thing. Ragno and Ondine getting PTSD... Then a bit later on Ragno being st@bbed... and getting burned... Ondine struggling from the thing Ragno getting glass in her legs... and so many other things.
'Ugh. I don't have time for this... I need to find Ondine...' She tried getting up, but everytime she tried her stomache would get that sharp pain again. It felt disgusting. Everything felt tangled up, pushing eachother out of their normal spots.
Tears dripped down from her cheeks and she started crying. Everything hurt snd she didn't know why, and it was stopping her from going to help her friends.
She shouldn't cry, she doesn't get to be the victim, her friends are going through way worse. She should have sucked it up. It's not a big deal. Why live? if shes this useless maybe she shouldn't live at all? All these thoughts passed her head.
God, why was she thinking this? Why was she not giving herself a break?
...But does she really deserve a break?
-
She came out of the stall when the pain finally reduced to a point where she could walk. Luckily there was no one in the bathroom but at this point Anansi didn't care. Why would anyone care about her anyway? She looked at herself with the mirror in the bathroom. She looked thin. Thinner then usual. She looked pathetic.
'No wonder Ondine left. A person this pathectic wouldn't be able to help anyone.'
She left the bathroom while avoiding and hiding from everyone she sees, she ends up behind the school, at a garden not many know of. She sat down on the bench and closed her eyes. She tried to sleep by ignoring the pain, but it was comming back even worse. She started to sweat and hyperventilate, it was hurting to breathe her throat hurt from throwing up. She felt like she was going to pass out.
"Fuck..."
OOC: Hi guys I'M SORRY FOR THE ANGST But it's going to get worse
They're will be A LOT of sensetive content wile being so please think about that before interacting. Also, every one of these contents/topics are not to joke about and should be taken very seriously.
Some of these description of these are from my own experience and Idk if other people experiences are differnent but please keep that in mind!
No. But I don't have time for me, my friends are struggling way more than me. I don't matter that much anyway. Yk what they say. Just suck it up It's not a big deal. I can deal with my problems later.
Ondine was just laying on her bed. She had been trying to sleep but nightmares woke her up every time she managed to close her eyes. It was always the same. Ragno on her leeched state or Ragno dying. She was tired. She just wanted to stop seeing Ragno die or get consumed by that thing...
The knock on the door made her jump in surprise, taking her out of any spiraling thought she was having.
And then she heard Anansi's voice.
Ah, Anansi.
That's right, she had been slowly isolating even before Ragno went to the hospital, it's been a bit since she's talked to Anansi. It'd be embarrassing if she saw her like this...
"Uh, yes."
Ondine answered anyways. Her voice was clearly monotone and tired.
Her voice slightly shaked nervously. She didn't wan't to push Ondine but she still wanted to hear her point of view of the situation from the hospital. Kind of selfish really. While she waits for Ondine to answer, she tries to think about what she'll say if Ondine let's her in. It's been a while since they talked, not after the whole incident...
Ondine really wanted to let her in. Anansi was such a good friend, she could have fun with her and also trust her with her feelings. But... She had this urge to just stay alone and talk to no one...
She entered this sort of trance state, where she just tensed and couldn't stop looking at one specific point, while her head just spiraled and spiraled. Ondine pinched her hand, trying to force herself to react. She pinched so hard that her nails dug in her skin, finally making her snap out after blood came out.
"Oh shit." She mumbled to herself, getting up to get something to cover the wound and not make Anansi worry. "Uh, yeah! Yeah, come in!" She yelled while making a lot of noise in her room, trying to find something fast and just throwing stuff around. Her room was a mess...
When Anansi opened the door and she still hadn't found a bandage or piece of clean cloth, she hid her hand behind her back and waved with the other.
"H-Hi Anansi!" Ondine forced a smile, her eyebags were awful and her voice was dry.
"Hey girl. You good...? Heard some rustling while I was still out there." Anansi looks around the room. It's a mess, but she doesn't mind. Then she looks over at Ondine. She had big eyebags under her eyes, her hair was messed up, and she had the most exhausted face expression ever. She doesn't mention it, and Anansi's sure Ondine is the most aware of her current situatuion anyway. So she just sits on the bed, and starts a nornal conversation friends would have.
"Did you know sharks have been around on Earth for about 450 million years, which means they predate trees by roughly 50 million years?" Random, but quite funny because of that.
Ondine was thankful that Anansi didn't mention anything about her current situation. Ugh, she loved Anansi (platonically).
Anansi sat on the bed so she followed, and her eyes lit up as soon as she mentioned sharks.
"Sharks are way cooler than trees, am I right?" She chuckled, it's been a while since she's thought about sea creatures so her mood was instantly lifted.
Wait. Sea creatures... Sea... Beach... Ragno's gift... That she broke... And just left...
Ondine started to hyperventilate a bit, but tried to play it off, waving her hand as if saying I'm ok. But she waved the wrong hand, the bloody one, so she was quick to hide it again.
"D-Don't worry girl..." Ondine tried one last time to pretend everything was alright. She didn't know if she could keep this up...
"Look Ondine, I don't know everything, but I've been at the hospital with Ragno before so I kinda know something happened. And also. I can see your hand bleeding. Right now."
She sighs.
"I won't try to dig anything out of you. And you don't have to tell me anything. But, let me stay here with you. Let me share what ever is going on and patch up that wound. I need just that. We can talk about sea creatures or what pranks we should do on our teammates. Just... promise me that you'll let me go through this with you."
Not because she was sad or anguished (for once), but because she was so happy to have someone like Anansi. Someone so caring and understanding and... Kind.
Ondine had a knot on her throat, she couldn't say anything even if she wanted to. So she just nodded. She wanted Anansi with her, she didn't want to be alone anymore.
As Anansi treated her wound, Ondine was trying to relax, still too tense. She wanted to ask questions and also just drop everything that has been invading her thoughts. She wasn't going to let slide how Anansi told her she visited Ragno, so she decided to start there.
"Y-You... You saw R-Ragno...?" Ondine said with a low and trembling voice, tears wanting to come out.
"Uh. Yeah... It seems I had sneaked in just as you left. There was something that breaked on the floor and Ragno was picking it up. she was uhm... Well. crying... I... didn't ask why."
Anansi grunted. She promised Ragno to not say anything but... she knew she had to tell Ondine. She continued talking about it. Her helping Ragno into the bed, them finding out Ragno having... glass in her legs. And Anansi freaking out after finding out, then running away after the nurses came. Pretty chaotic.
Though she doesn't mention the burns...
"I guess that's all that happened. I was this close to being caught by security... Scary."
After talking about Ragno, She looks over to look at Ondine's expression.
Glass... On Ragno's legs... She was bleeding and crying...
It was her fault. She brought the flask, she gave her a gift, and then she broke it and just ran away. Ondine stopped moving, frozen. Apparently she tended to do that more often than she should whenever she remembered anything related to Ragno.
She felt how Anansi stopped talking and looked at her, but she wasn't really processing reality. Her mind was transported to the moment she was with Ragno at the hospital. Everything was ok until she... Until she saw that face... Ragno's unsettling smile flashed through her head and she pushed Anansi, crying and hyperventilating. She then covered her head while grabbing her hair tightly.
"No, you're not Ragno... You're not Ragno... Get away..." She cried.
When Anansi held her hands, it made Ondine feel safer. Contained. She looked at her and could see how she was worried. She hated making people worry, and she also hated looking so pathetic and weak in front of others. But Anansi was so patient with her...
Ondine's breathing stabilized and the tears she was containing could finally fall down her face.
"I... I didn't mean you, Anansi... I just..." Ondine bit her lip, her sharp tooth making a small wound. "Every time I think about Ragno I see... That thing..."
She squeezed Anansi's hands, breaking eye contact. She really didn't want her friend to see her like that.
"I didn't mean to tell him that I preferred that nightmerish thing over him! And even if we solved it, I just CAN'T. STOP. SEEING IT!"
She broke and threw herself to Anansi's arms to cry and sob. She felt awful. Guilty, afraid, ashamed, sad, frustrated, hurt... It was so much that she couldn't process it alone anymore.
She holds Ondine tightly, understanding it's no one's fault but that Thing's. Anansi didn't care about the Thing that much, since she wasn't really there when it was still in Ragno. But she knows how it feels and she knows the impact the Thing had on everyone. So, she holds Ondine as tightly as she can, giving her the comfort she needs.
"...Just let it all out. The more you bottle it in, the bigger the pop will be. You know I got your back girl."
She slowly pats Ondine's back. Trying to soothe her by doing so.
"I know your scared. But, I'm here with you, and I'll be here for you for however long you need me."
Ondine cried a lot, more than she thought she could. She didn't even care how awful she looked in front of Anansi or if her sobs and cries could be heard outside of her dorm room, she needed this.
She had been keeping a lot of stuff inside. Just swallowing everything because it couldn't be that serious. But it was, and she was tired of lying to herself. It was a big deal, a HUGE deal. But she was so glad that she wasn't alone, that she had Anansi hugging her and holding her, rubbing her hand gently on her back...
After crying her eyes out for a few minutes, Ondine started to calm down progressively. Her crying lowering its intensity until only little sobs and sniffles were left. She was still holding Anansi, too ashamed to let go and face her after being so vulnerable.
After crying so much, Ondine was really tired. She never thought crying could take so much effort and energy, but her lack of sleep was also contributing to that.
She was glad to hear Anansi's words of comfort but... She was also sure that Ragno blamed her... She has been making mistake after mistake, and when they were finally going back to normal (as normal as you can get after those experiences), she has to ruin it all and drop that stupid gift... She didn't know Ragno tried to go after her, getting injured with the glass in the process and crying... She had to do something about it, apologize and try to fix things. But Anansi was right, maybe later.
Ondine chuckled a bit at Anansi's ice cream comment.
"Yeah. We should also reschedule girls night 2, everyone was pretty excited about that, huh?" Ondine's voice was broken and raspy from crying so much, but it didn't bother her if it was Anansi the only one to see her like that.
Ondine yawned. "Girl, I'm so tired..." She rubbed her eyes, but still afraid to fall asleep.
Seeing how Anansi laid down on her bed made her feel even safer.
Ondine was embarrassed to admit it, but if Anansi decided to leave, she was going to ask her to stay. So she was glad she read her mind.
Ondine laid down beside her, being a bit scared to get too close in case she had a nightmare and punched her or something... She had thrown things out of her bed during nightmares so she really didn't want to hurt Anansi. She hugged her knees, laying on her side and facing Anansi.
"Thank you..." Ondine said softly, but embarrassed.
Anansi chuckles, "It's funny seeing you say thank you!"
She slightly makes fun of Ondine, but in a pretty playful way. Then she stares up at the ceiling then the room turns to silence.
It's quiet. So quiet they can hear eachother breathing. But it's surprisingly calming. It's just the two of them. Theres no worries, no thoughts, just some peace for once.
