HI ANON YAYYYY THANK YOU!!!!! im so happy to see another pt fan :-DDD just a fair warning this might get a little long and i might ramble about General things about the game inbetween so ill leave everything under the cut. also spoilers and stuff yadda yadda
ill be honest most of my experiences with mara as a character come from Really strong projection because i have never related to a character more in my life i think . iwas pretty isolated and lonely during my teenage years so finding comfort in creating things online was really my only source of stability and that part of her character in PT1 really resonated with me lol. as for PT2 things finally started looking up since i moved to a much bigger city and entered university so the ups and downs that come from having this much freedom with this many new experiences also affected me a lot. im gonna be talking about S2S here the most probably jus a heads up
one thing i love about mara is that shes allowed to make really stupid decisions. shes allowed to still be objectively immature despite now being a Big Girl In The Big City In A Big University and we're allowed to see this because she is human and we all make really stupid mistakes and that aspect really doesnt get represented enough in art in my opinion. her butting into a conversation with walsh in the library in PT2 and then feeling hurt and bitter for the way walsh reacted even thought it was something that was ultimately the result of Her own doing was really really good it stuck with me for a while despite how much it annoyed me during the playthrough LOL
if theres one thing i feel like she didnt improve upon in the end is her entire thing with getting into relationships every other week. girl please give yourself a break This is not good for you im so serious. It will be the end of you if you dont get that shit sorted out. semi related but out of all of mara's boyfriends i kinda want john to die the most but thats my own very personal vendetta that i developed for no reason other than he really really annoyed me and i didnt care about him and having to see him for a good chunk of late game just made me want to kill myself trying to finish playing. She shouldve gotten w the girl who gave her the piercing in the dorm showers instead #tbh. My one and only criticism of the game. Fuck john
iwish i could write more but i feel like id just start repeating myself anddd i do need a replay of both of the games tbh but. Ill save that for my video essay which will come out Never but i keep spinning the idea around in my head. such a great game seriously. i think i owe meredith gran a quarter of my soul
ok so this is another long shot but a few years ago there was a twitter post (in japanese i think?) that had measurememts for how to make this book stand thing out of cardboard that you could use to double up books and use up more space on shelves
back then i made a bunch of these but by now i lost the pic and dont know how to find the original post anymore
if it comes down to it i can just take one apart and get the measurements from there but i would be very grateful if anyone happens to have the original post or something similar??
don't mind how long it's been since i made this post, anyway i realized that i don't even need to take one apart to get the measurements when i can literally just unfold it and refold it /FACEPALM
so anyway here is the diagram for anyone else who is interested!!
this requires pretty big carboard pieces, if you have a really big box or something you can make it from one piece, but if you don't, you can also just make each of the pieces individually and then tape them together
and then in the end you put it together like this!!
and then when you make a bunch you can put them all next to each other and stack your books like crazy

hi anon!!! yeah thats my old blog from like 4 years ago LOL unfortunately it was my only archive of nier stuff but i got embarrassed and deleted it a while ago. i could probably send like a zip file with all of the art on discord or something which. sounds weird but im still embarrassed honestly. thank you for the kind words though <3
