14th of September in Saint Marco Square, Venice ✝️ We wondered around a couple spots within the square. 14th of September, the day I crossed a location off my travel bucket list 😍 We arrived in Venice in the afternoon. Since we can only walk to our airbnb, we lugged three 20kgs luggages for half an hour from the train station, through 3 sets of bridges with stairs and windy passageways to get to it 😂 We didn’t manage to do tons since we’ve done our daily cardio by climbing those hellish stairs 😂 We got to see pretty canals on our way at least! Another very late travel update 😂 On the 11th of September, we explore around Ponte Vecchio area and we head into the cathedral that Michaelangelo and several other important historical figures were buried. What fascinates me was how detailed and extravagant their plaques and memorial stones were, just to commemorate their life’s work. It’s truly beautiful 😍 After that, we went to Uffizi Gallery to see the famous painting of Venus emerging from the sea. The museum itself is a work of art, I am so impressed of the architects and artists that put their hearts into building and decorating the place for preservation of art ❤️ If you visit any cathedral or museum, please look up! The art on their ceilings is worth gawking at 😍 I can’t wait to see other parts of Europe in the future 🥰 - I am currently back home in Malaysia, spending time with my family and some close friends. “Learning never exhausts the mind.” - Leonardo Da Vinci On the 9th of September, we spent the whole day catching trains after trains from Paris to get to Florence. We had to run through the station past heavy smokers to get to our carriage 🚆We arrived in Florence around 8pm (Florence time). On the 10th of September, we walked towards where the Duomo cathedral is. We didn’t go in as there was an endless queue and we were happy to just admire the cathedral from the outside. We ate gelato (a lot of it), we visited Galleria dell’Academia for Michelangelo’s David, which we lined up a couple of hours for (just to see a gigantic naked man) 😂 The art and technique of sculpting are fascinating to learn about: do you know that the holes on the sculptures are purposely put on as reference markings for sketches? We also went into a Leonardo Da Vinci museum that was filled with replicas of Da Vinci’s creations (or his design sketches would look like if they are real). It’s amazing to see how a man was ahead of his time and has started the basics of modern inventions. 😍 Side note, I am currently in Istanbul for a layover while doing a #touristanbul cruise tour. It is lovely to be silly at the right moment.” -Horace As per previous birthday post, on the 8th of September, we went to see Sacre Cœur in the morning then off to the Louvre later that day. To keep my immature side entertain, I made Charlie take silly photos of me with the paintings displayed in the Louvre 😂 I even added silly captions onto some of the photos of the paintings (they are included in my Paris highlight! ) Of course, in the midst of entertaining ourselves, we have the upmost respect to the painters and their artwork. From their choices of colours to lighting to the details on physical appearance do not cease to awe me 😍 We are on the train to Venice now! (Tossed by the slightest breeze)” - quote from a plaque in the Catacombs - On the 7th of September, we had a big sleep in after our exhausting day in Versailles. We took our time to wander around our Airbnb, which was not too far away from the Eiffel Tower, so we’ve decided to pop by to see one of the tallest towers in the world. The line to go up to the tower was horrendously long so we decided not to queue up, plus we were happy enough to see the tower itself 😍Couldn’t resist a touristy selfie myself 😂 After that, we went down into the catacombs, which we gladly have booked tickets for. It’s insane that all the skulls are lined up in such a way that it is beautiful to see 💀☠️ The ceiling of the catacombs are quite low so Tahlia and I struggled to keep our back straight, while Charlie walk through without any problems at all 😂 Others were quite creeped out by the catacombs and the never ending walls of skulls, then there’s me thinking the layout of the catacombs and the skulls are artistic and gorgeous 😍 Tomorrow we leave Florence for Venice, can’t believe how time flies! 🚆 终于看到宏伟的埃菲尔铁塔啦！我这个游客就情不自禁地跟它来个合照 😂 下午时，我们到了巴黎地下墓穴参观 💀 其他人都觉得很恐怖，唯独我这个神经病觉得骷髅头和地下墓穴很唯美😂 明天早上我们就要从佛罗伦萨出发到威尼斯了，时间过得实在太快了 🚆 (at Tour Eiffel) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2ULbrSHROg/?igshid=1kcj33r7ve5sh

“We can do all we wish while we live; afterward, we are less than the meanest.” - Louis XIV - On the 6th of September, we went on a bike tour we booked with @fattiretours. Most of us had an excellent time, except one 😂 I haven’t been on a bike since I was 11 or 12, hence I struggled to keep myself balance on the bike. I suspected the bike I got was faulty since it kept swerving me to the left (my abs hurt at the end of the day from holding onto the handles for my dear life!) 😂 I fell, I get up like I usually do but my body gave in at the end of the trip, with tons of bruises on me. Thank you, Nick from Fat Tires Tour for being so kind to me and being an excellent guide during our visit at the palace and its grounds. We knew we would be smashed the next day after our bike tour hence we make the most out of our day by exploring as much as we can around the area.
