In response to something I read earlier…

"A real woman should have curves"

Nope. A real woman is one that was born with a vagina. women are as unique as snowflakes, and apart from unhealthy extremes at either end of the size spectrum, their shapes and sizes are all healthy and natural. to say "a real woman should have curves" is terribly insensitive as well… is the young girl who hasn't developed breasts or a bum yet (and possibly never will), not a real woman? is the woman fighting MS or cancer, desperately trying to maintain her diminishing weight not a real woman? is a naturally lanky or athletic tomboy not a real woman? does this mean a girl with very small natural breasts should save up for implants, assuming she wants to be a "real" woman?

If you want to encourage positive body image for young girls, why not tell them to be happy with themselves, no matter what they look like? kate moss and kate upton are both beautiful. you don't have to like one or the other… its ok to like both.
