Updates!
Hello all! For about the last month, this blog has been a little inactive. Ashley and I graduated this month (the 10th) and we’ve taking a little impromptu hiatus to take time for grad parties and to just settle down after the stressful IB year. We’ve got an inbox full of messages and we plan to reply to all of them tomorrow, as well as give you guys an idea of where we’re going to be taking this blog since we are both now official “ib veterans.” Thank you everyone for your patience! :) -Parker and Ashley
hey! ...hi.. haha Do you remember which questions were in the paper 2 biology SL? ... i´m taking the test again tomorrow for school but tbh i don´t remember a lot of it ... do you think you can help me with some? or at least give me an outline of what i have to study XD sorry, but i had to...
I have been trying to think of what was on that test all day and I literally have nothing. I seriously think what happened was I took the test and then dumped literally everything from my brain. Hopefully, some people will be able to give you some last minute tips if they remember anything and see this!-Parker
About to take Psych paper 2 and paper 3!
Testing is to IB students as Voldemort is to Harry
They come at the end of the year
They are dreaded all year
They either lead to your success or your demise
They are evil!
They’re British
Hey... Answer was 60... And I wrote 55 😞... 😅😂 sorry, I just can't get over it.
Do you happen to be talking about the biology test with the nomogram? I’m not sure how synced the IB tests are so I don’t know if we took the same ones at the same time heh. But don’t worry! If it makes you feel any better, last year I took the SL math studies test and I missed THE WHOLE BACK PAGE of paper 1. I didn’t realize it until the next day when our teacher decided she wanted to go over the test (since they can see them the next day) and she showed us a page I hadn’t seen before. I asked about it and she was like “oh yeah, that was the very last page.”
Needless to say, I couldn’t get over it either haha. Still passed tho 👌🏽 (I got a 4 😁)

Do you do all your exams in one year? I'm from Ontario, Canada and we usually divide it up between grades 11 and 12.
For us it depends on the class. I am taking all my tests this year because all my classes take two years. So I am taking 12 tests within the next couple weeks. I know Parker took math studies last year and tested. Math studies is a one year course. Other classes like physics and Ecosystems at our school only run one year so they test in first year if that's when it's taken. I do believe that standard level classes are supposed to be able to test in one year because there is less content but some of ours run for two years like foreign language, visual arts, I think music, theater, and also math do. This is at least how our IB system is set up. I know other schools will run things differently especially IB schools. Our program is very small so some classes like foreign language are just doing extra work on top of the regular curriculum which can affect the rate of things. ~Ashley
The fact that IB exams start tomorrow still have not sunk in. I'm in an endless state of denial.
Haha aren’t we all!! I can’t wait to finally get these over with. We’ve spent two years preparing for them; it’s about time they come to an end.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL
~Ashley
I'm planning to do engineering and I'm confused as to what to take as my sixth subject. should I take Biology SL or Economics HL?
Well it depends on what you want to do in engineering. If you wanted to do medical engineering I would say more biology. Economics could also be helpful in engineering say if you wanted to sell a product that you created like a software engineer or something (like Robert Herjavec from the television show Shark Tank). If available physics would definitely help. I feel like that is either a prerequisite or a requirement for engineering programs but I could be wrong (check the college or program you plan on or are looking into to make sure). If you only have those two options though and neither really helps you into the engineering that you want to go in I would say take whatever interests you more. Not all classes you take in IB will help you in your future career. For example I’m in visual arts but I want to be a physician (don’t see much use there). It is still a class that interested me so it isn’t a wasted class. So you might just have to weigh the pros and cons of each.
Hope that helps!
~Ashley
Person: Don't wait until the last minute to do your homework!
Me: Oh don't worry, I'm not that irresponsible. I'll only wait until the last /five/ minutes to do it
hey I'm currently doing IGCSE and planning to take IBDP in grade 11. I haven't taken up biology in class 9&10. will I be able to cope up in IBDP if I take Biology SL? (future goal: engineering)
According to my experience, I think you should be fine in SL bio. Granted, I did take 9th grade biology, but by the time I had gotten into 11th grade I had pretty much forgotten everything but "the mitochondria is the power house of the cell." For me, I didn't have a hard time in Biology and I also took HL (well, technically I'm testing in SL but at my school there is only the HL class offered so it's basically as though I'm taking HL). So really, I feel like anything you need to know for the class will be gone over, and you'll be fine if you take SL bio at this point. Good luck with IGSCE and IB!-Parker
IM STARTING IB MYP 9TH GRADE IS IT HARD? HOW MUCH HOMEWORK A NIGHT?? HOW SHOULD I PREPARE? THANKS!!
HERES A POST THAT CAN HELP BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

hi there! for the anon and other readers of this blog, i made a post about IB MYP!! :> terhangus @ tumblr /post/143635306316/
Oh bless you 🙏🏼It seems MYP is getting more popular, or at least more people are asking about it anyway, so this will hopefully help out everyone who is going into MYP. Here's a clickable link to the post for anyone who is interested in checking it out! Thanks again for sending this in!-Parker

Time for a little QNA?
As one of our followers called it, May hell is coming up and along with that, it means one thing: testing.
Soooo, we thought we’d do something fun to take everyone’s minds off of these exams! We’ve answered your questions and hopefully we’ve made you laugh (or at least blow a little extra air out of your nose as you stare at your phone) but do you really know us? Well you know you wannaaa!
Send us any questions you have and we’ll do a big QNA (maybe in a video or maybe in a master post). They can be silly or serious, whatever you want really! It can even be about our experience in IB (even though this is a distraction from IB XD)
We don’t have a set date for answering them, but whenever we get a good amount of questions we’ll answer them (and we’ll each be answering all the questions).
So, if there’s anything you wanted to know about us, now’s the time to ask! And get ready for the procrastination!!!
May hell is coming and I'm slowly dying. Do you have any last minute tips for exams?
Ah yes, all of us IBers are feeling the hell deep in our bones right about now.
So, as requested, here are some tips that I totally didn’t come up with on the spot right now:
Try to break up your studying. Study some each night and don’t cram. Prioritize the tests you have coming first because, after all, once the tests are over, for the most part, you wont need the information that much
If you’re not really sure what you’re in for, try some practice tests. It’ll give you a feel for what is coming. Here is a link to some practice exams.
If your teachers are giving you in class time to study, use it wisely and actually study! Take this time to ask them any questions you have or for them to go over anything that you’re not quite sure on. If they aren’t giving you time to do this, then I recommend still going to talk to them after class/emailing them if you need to. Even if you don’t particularly like them, it is their job to help you out, so feel free to use their help if needed!
Make sure you get good sleep! You may feel like you have to study just a little bit longer but really, it won’t do you any good to try and stay up later just to study. You’re much more likely to remember the information if you study some, sleep on it, and study some more.
Eat a good breakfast before the tests. Does this help at all? Who knows! But I do know that good breakfasts are nice, so it definitely can’t hurt to treat yourself.
Speaking of treating yourself, if you’re having trouble motivating yourself to study or are even finding the thought of taking the tests daunting, then set a reward for yourself. Don’t think “if I do well I can do this___,” because in reality, you can only do the best that you can do, so make sure you celebrate the fact that you put a ton of work into your classes and are now taking these tests. So when you’re done with them, treat yourself!
Anddd, that’s what I’ve got for ya. Good luck on your tests, and know that this school year is just about over!
-Parker
IM JOINING IB MYP WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?
CONGRATS! I THINK, RIGHT? YOU’RE EXCITED YEAH?
And also probably nervous which is why you’re typing in caps, I’m assuming XD
As for what you need to know, well, I’ve got nothing, and I know Ashley also has nothing because neither of us have any experience with myp. We actually just got our first ask about it (which I only answered a little while ago) and I had no idea what myp was. Well, I knew it existed, but I didn’t know that myp was its name. So, there’s probably not much I can tell you other than what a google search could, so I’m asking our followers:
Can y’all give this nice anon tips for myp? Thanks IB fam!
