I have gone through the tag and I will not accept anyone calling Claudia a bad mother, that she's at fault with her actions, that she had some inkling of an idea that Stiles wasn't a danger to her person. Kindly educate yourself regarding dementia. I work in a home. More than half of my patients are demented and delusional, and some of them even have Alzheimer's Disease. Alzheimer's doesn't normally cause atrophy to the brain as quickly as Claudia's condition, but I've seen the same outbursts and accusations. People who have any form of dementia are victims to themselves. They don't even recollect the damage they've done, it doesn't process to them later that they hurt someone they love. People with dementia and especially Alzheimer's are usually on medication for aggression and anxiety. Those are not including the psychotropic drugs for altered mental status. Even with proper dosage, a person is able to work themselves up, pass medicated levels, if they believe they are in danger. If they believe someone is trying to hurt them. It doesn't matter if the person is a stranger or a sibling, staff or spouse or child or parent: at that moment, a demented patient doesn't have the connection to believe they're looking at a friendly face, no matter what a third party says. Claudia believes her ten year old son was trying to kill her. She would have possibly not even seen her son at all when looking at him, might not remembered she had a son. All she knew in her bones is that a kid was after her, and she defended herself. Claudia is a victim of her sickness and cannot be blamed. It does not make her a bad mother.

Hi all! I’ve been getting a lot of reviews this past month on ‘where is my bright future’ and if I’ve let it go, and I swear it’s not been abandoned! It’s currently a side-burner project while my Merlin story, ‘a half of a whole’, is leading priority. It’s also another reason why I haven’t touched up on ‘An Emissary’s Touchstone’ series.
