To Those who Still Care,
Thank you for your incredible support throughout my journey to beat the depression that had consumed me for 10+ years. I admit that this journey has been over for about two years now. I have won. I believe that you all deserve an apology for the lack of content, but my creativity walked hand-in-hand with my depression. This blog will still be up, but content will no longer be released. Please know that I am here for anybody that is still fighting.
To 15, From 21:
Fourteen's wish didn't come true but maybe fifteen's would; this year, you thought, would be the year that the whirlwind of courage would be born. This year, you would see the tornado finally bring you home. When the lights went dim, I know you closed your eyes and wished that this would be the last time. I know that this wish brought you so much hope - I know that all you wanted to do was feel as though you belonged. I am sorry to disappoint you. I am sorry to say that your tornado never came, that the accident never happened, that someone grabbed your arm before you slipped. They say that things happen for a reason and I know that one day, you will realize what that reason was. I will not spoil the ending for you, but I will tell you that your life is about to become an incredible adventure.

Fifteen and Alive
I was fifteen and spent most of time trying to figure out how to exhale without allowing the sadness to escape from my lungs or how to twist my rib cage just enough so that my heart wouldn't fall through the cracks. I was fifteen and spent most of my time trying to figure out how to translate the road maps on my arms into a treasure map that lead to something other than myself. I didn't realize that my footsteps were creating oceans, or that I could create mountains that could not be moved by anything but my fingertips. I didn’t realize that I was invincible.
Some days, the hummingbirds nesting inside of my rib cage grow too comfortable on the ground and forget how to fly. Some days, I do the same
Little Girl,
I cannot tell you how many sleepless nights you will spend dreaming of the man who will one day break your heart - the man whose whisper will weave itself through the empty spaces of your rib cage like the smoke trapped in a burning building. I am not sure which combination of words he will use to tell you that you are no longer wanted - that the foundation of the home that you have built around him is beyond repair and that the doorbell no longer functions as a welcome but a signal to run. There will be holes in your heart for every day that he is gone.
I wonder now if the scars left behind on my wrists are from the fireworks exploding inside of my body.

Your fingers are laced with thorns and my shoelaces are caught dancing within them. My wrists are searching for your razor blade spine; I am attached to your kite string. Cut me like the machine that you are. Cut me like the man that you aren’t. Set me free.
Know that I am spinning galaxies between my fingertips - spiderweb road maps weaving into hammocks for you to rest your heavy head.
Swallow me with the strength of your current and together, we will create tsunamis.
There are slashes in my fingertips wide enough to fit my heart into, wide enough to make the deepest of oceans jealous, wide enough to dance in. Too wide to sew back together. Take your needle and thread and mend me a new heart, one that is too bold to sneak into dark crawl spaces, one who knows what life is like with the lights on. I have spent the last year trying to gather the fragments of bones that were left behind from the hurricane, but it is impossible to tell where they belong. It is impossible to tell which parts of me will be gone forever in the rubble.
I am anchoring you in a body of tidal waves. I am sorry, but I cannot find the strength to pick myself up.
Let the loneliness engulf me like the smoke in the lungs of the children who couldn't escape the fire.
