Green charmander

When i was 8 years old i made a sculpture of charmander at the camp i went to, me unknowing fully what colorblind ment, decided to paint it what i thought was the correct color, flash forward 7 years later where i hace completely forgot about it and it had been sitting in some boxes downstairs. My brother finds it and askes me why i painted the charmander green. I look at him dumbfounded and run upstairs to my room and contact the person who was helping me make it. I ask her about why she let me paint it green amd she said “art is art even if it is made by an 8 year ord than has trouble with colors”

Art Class

In 3rd grade i loved art class, and as i look back on it now i find it very ironic. One day in art our project was to draw our own shoes. I thought this would be a peice of cake, and it was, within an hour i was finished with my shoe, but when the teacher came over she clearly knew i was colorblind when i had colored my bright red, light up skecher, brown.

Colorful pop

My sophomore year in highschool we have an event called middle school band night, where all the middle schoolers come over to the highschool and we show them what its like to be in band. During lunch my middle school band director came over to say hi to our table where some of his old students were. My friend who was also a former student of his told him that i was colorblind. He then proceeded to grab all the pop cans he could find and asked me “which one is the coke” when my other friend pointed out the obvious and said that i could see the lables then my old director proceeded to put water bottles in front of all the pop cans.

Rubix cubes for the colorblind

Now, I know that I am in the minority when it comes people who can solve a rubik’s cube, but I know I am in an even smaller minority when it comes to colorblind people who can solve a ribik’s cube. Now, when people ask me how i do it I tell them very simply, “I memorized what colors are across from each other and thats how I remember it” but today was different, I was sitting in band class, solving my little pizzle when the question gets asked from this new girl in school, I was about to respond when another kid in class responds and says “he probably uses braille to figure it out.” All that is going through my head now is hey hasbro, have I got a toy idea for you

Colorful Chemicals

During my chemistry class one day we had to do a simulation in which we had to watch the green and orange dots and record how long it takes for them to collide and bond together, what my chemistry teacher didnt know is that i was colorblind and so this task proved very difficult for me, but i decided to go along with it so i did the worksheet that went along with it and turned it in. About a week later he returned the work sheet to us and pulled me off to the side and asked if what went wrong because everyone elce in class got an A on the assignment and i got a 43% to this day i think that he gave me those few points as pity points.

Colorful trumpets

With pretty much the whole band knowing that i am colorblind it was pretty normal to hear some jokes about it, but the best one so far has been during marching band when we had section wars where each section wore their respective color shirt, our color was blue. So my friends, being the people they are create the shirts and put nicknames on the back of them. I look at my shirt and notice that it said "colorblind" unknowing of the real joke behind it i look at it and chuckle a little. Later i find out from one of my other friends, who wasnt in on the joke, that my shirt is a couple shades different than the rest of the section. Dont trust anyone in band.

Sailing for the colorblind

On a scale from 1-10 how hard do you think it is for a colorblind person to go sailing, one time while sailing this year i was stearing the boat around a couple of other boats to avoid collision, but what i failed to notice was that the reason i had almost hit so many boats is because they had orange markers for the advanced course and green markers for the beginers course. I was supposed to be on the advanced course, somehow i managed to get going the wrong direction on the beginers course. I should have probably stayed on the beginers course.
