An’ ya star’ off with either a penguin, a turtle, ‘er a monkey. —I always pick tha penguin." {/With a small nod, Nicole begins going through Yu’s desk.} "I’ll look in here."

"Really? Can I name the bunny, Mr. Fluffybutt? I think it's funny! Wow, there's more? We gotta find it, we gotta find it!" Goes to her corner and tries to reach for the small space in between the wall and her big bro's stand of figurines. "I'll pick the penguin, too! What did you name the penguin, big sis?"

"—Oh!" he blinks, then fishes his phone out of his pocket to check and sees that indeed his phone strap had broke. Katsuragi smiles at the girl and retrieves the phone charm from her tiny hand.

"I didn’t even notice I lost it. Thanks," He gently pets her on the head, "How about I go get you some ice cream? As a thank you."

"...You're welcome..." she replies, timidly. Nanako's eyes widens as she feels a hand patting over her head. It feels nice and her cheeks are now flushing with bright red. "I just ate... And my big bro might look for me soon...Your keychain looks nice."

"I dunno if I can explain i’ any other way….I’m sorry, Nanako. Bu’ yeah, he has tons o’ friends. He’s a very likable person." {/Watching her stand behind her, Nicole steps to the side before gently ushering her in the room beside her.} "If ya help me find i’, I’ll le’ ya play. I’s very fun! Ya ge’ ta raise these cool lil’ creatures."

"Mhm! Big bro is! I like him a lot!" She instantly chimed as she finally took a step inside her big bro's room. "Wow! That sounds really fun! Does it have bunnies and unicorns? I like bunnies! Hmm..." She then looks around and points at one corner, "I'll try to look for it over here!"

            He feels the sudden tug on his shirt then slowly he turns to look down, only to find the little girl peering up at him. Katsuragi blinks curiously at her before crouching down to her level.

"Well hello there… Is there anything onii-chan can do for you?"

"H-Hello... I think you dropped this..." Presents a cellphone charm to the boy. "Is this yours, onii-chan...?"

"My mom is tha younges’ o’ her siblin’s, Nanako. I’m yer big sis by…adoption. See, yer dad ain’ adop’ me. Bu’. I’m like a big sis ta ya. I’ll explain later. —I’s small. An’ black. Like a lil’ tiny chip. An’ i’ says ‘Pokémon’ on i’." {/Gently places her down once they’re in Yu’s room.}

"I don't understand what you said but it's good! Big bro has nice friends and daddy likes all of them! It makes me happy to see big bro happy." Lands on her two feet and shyly places herself behind Big Sis. "Okay... Small, black and Pokémon! Let's find it!"

"Yup! Big sis! I’ll look after ya an’ stuff when Ya ain’ here. —Don’ worry, Nanako. We aren’ lookin’ fer any of his stuff. I lef’ a game here las’ time, an’ I need i’ back. "If you're big sis then big bro's... big bro... Does that mean Daddy is your mom's little brother, too? I heard him say that to big bro once. Oh! Okay, I'll help you look for your game! What does it look like?"

Yu paused with a blink, standing there in the hall carrying the futon tucked under an arm and balancing several pillows upon his other shoulder when Nanako abruptly stops just in front of him that he’d almost walked right into her. Ah, was she trying to be quiet for her dad?

"Ah, I see. I guess we’re running low on stuff already huh? I wonder if your dad needs some stuff too…" Yu takes a moment to consider this, "I’ll tell you what. How about we both go to Junes tomorrow and to the groceries together?” he smiled, using his free hand to pat her on the head. “Sound good?”

"...Hm? Uh-uh." 

Her pigtails swayed as she shook her head at his question. He was right, she was only trying to keep quiet because the noise might wake up her Daddy. No one wants to see a grumpy Dojima awake. "Yeah, I think the laundry detergent isn't gonna last too long. Daddy's been packing up more extra clothes for work. Oh. Maybe we should buy him some toothpaste and shampoo and stuff... What do you think, big bro?" 

She tilted her head as she looked up to her bestest brother in the world, little arms still hugging around Pan-chan, trying her best to keep it within her embrace. A sound of a victorious chime suddenly perked her up, almost losing grip on her stuffed bread toy. "Mhm! Sounds goo--" Noticing that her excitement might make her voice louder, she cupped a hand closer to her mouth and continued, "Sounds good. For realsies!"

"Hey Nanako-Chan, is your dad around?"

"H-Hello… Daddy isn’t home. He said he will be late. Is he in trouble?"

"Oh, Nanako-chan! Are you busy? Would you like to join me for a little splash in the hot springs tonight? Chie-chan and Naoto-kun will be there, too. We can have a little race!"

"Ahh, Yukiko-oneechan! No, I’m not. I was trying to get orange juice from the bright and funny looking machine. I could go to the hot springs? Okay! Racing is fun!"

"I’ll be back before you know it." Yosuke gave her another reassuring wink before heading towards the employee break room, already undoing his apron. Finding Yu wouldn’t be that hard; it wasn’t like Inaba had many places worth checking out, much less hang around. He was probably fishing down by the riverbed or chatting it up with that fox near the shrine. 

Unless…

No. No, Yu wouldn’t enter the TV without calling everyone down to the food court first. Besides, Yosuke would have seen him if he came by Junes. I’m getting ahead of myself, the Magician thought as he punched out for the day. Best to just stick to the real world for now.

When he returned, Yosuke was tickled to find Nanako humming to the store’s iconic tune. At least there was one person in this podunk town that actually liked what his family did for a living and wouldn’t resent him for it.

"Okay, Nanako-chan," he declared, chest puffed out in misplaced bravado, "you ready to hunt down that big bro of yours?"

"Yes!"  She gave a firm nod and shouted with sheer determination as she posed, giving a wink and placing her left hand on her hip just like her detective heroine, Loveline. "We're on the case!" But she felt like something was missing-- her talking wand! 

No, Big Bro might be in trouble! We must find him!

Now back on track, she started walking forward. "Do you think he's in the food court, Yosuke-niichan? Maybe he got hungry and wanted to have some takoyaki..." She then looked down and studied her pair of pink shoes. "He didn't eat breakfast this morning.. We only had a slice of bread left so he let me eat it... I shouldn't have eaten it..." Her voice was almost a whimper as she kept her hands at her sides, refraining for a single tear to fall down her cheek as she suddenly sniffed and looked up at the ceiling fan. "But we're going to find him! We're going to--" She attempted to recall Yosuke's exact words from earlier before she continued, "We're going to hunt him down!"

     "N-Nanako-chan…" The older girl’s smile quickly faded after seeing the pout on Nanako’s face. She knelt down to Nanako’s level and pulled her in for a big hug, not wanting the little girl to feel so sad. "Cinderella, huh? Let’s see…" After pulling back from Nanako, Chie tapped a finger against her chin, trying to recall the story from her own childhood. "Oh! Well, after her carriage turned back into a pumpkin, Cinderella had to run home, away from the prince. But, when she was running, she lost one of her glass slippers! Well, the prince found that slipper of hers, and he searched the whole kingdom, every single house, looking for the girl who had lost the slipper! When Cinderella’s evil stepmother heard this, she locked Cinderella up in her room when the Prince came, because she didn’t want her to have a happily ever after. But…” Chie paused for dramatic effect. "The little mice helped Cinderella to get out of her locked room, the prince had her try on the slipper, and… it fit! So then, Cinderella and the prince got married, and they lived happily ever after!"

"O-Oh--!" Her eyes widen, obviously surprised at the sudden contact. When she realized Chie's arms were wrapped around her, she found herself reveling in its pleasant warmth as she lifted both of her own and tried to give a small squeeze in her response. Once letting go, a now big smile adorned her features and she listened intently to the rest of the of the story. "But they would see each other again, right?" Oh no! What if they wouldn't? Her smile faded away and was now replaced with a worried expression. "They locked her? Why would she do that? That's a really bad thing to do..." Part of her was kind of relived that she didn't have someone to be called as an 'evil stepmother'. "A happily ever after? What's that? Is that good?" She then tilted her head in utmost curiosity. It does sound good, though. It has the word 'happy' in it, anyway. Once Chie dramatically paused, she became more curious as she clasped her hands in front of her while waiting. "What happened, what happened? Tell me!" She looked at Chie eagerly and was completely happy once she was told that Cinderella was rescued and was reunited with Prince Charming. "Yaaaaaay! That was a good one! Thank you for the story, Chie-oneechan!" This time, she was the one who initiated a hug.

Yu was inclined to agree, “Y-yeah… your dad does get grumpy when that happens,” especially when he’s hung-over, he wanted to add.

When Nanako points at the toast-shaped pillow behind him Yu glances at it then smiles, "Ah, no wonder you love toast in the mornings." he mused, “Alright, we’ll take all the pillows and you carry Pan-chan with you.” He stands up with Nanako’s futon tucked under his arm.

"I’ll race you there." Yu chided, knowing how Nanako loves making games out of everything, even chores.

"Mhm! Don't you love toasts, too?" Truth be told, toasts were already a big part of her mornings. Sometimes, when in a hurry, she would just take a piece of toast with her, eating it as she rushes her way to school. Then it made her wonder, what if he wanted something else for breakfast because he doesn't want to become a Sailor Scout anymore? 

"Okay!" She then hurriedly picked up and hugged Pan-chan before breaking into a semi-sprint. As soon as her foot touched the rug just right outside of Dojima's room, Nanako looked up to her Big Bro, brown eyes blinking at him and her voice almost a whisper. "Big Bro, I will buy groceries tomorrow. Is there anything you want me to buy?"
