Orihime couldn’t even accept Ichigo’s inner hollow, Kubo putting the "I'm able to smile now because Ichigo saved me" for what? Comedy? So she can betray him and then cry because she’s an #empath but still be so confused why he’s on the wrong side? Orihime and Chad are written horribly. There’s a reason Ichigo never hollowfied in front of Rukia in any part of the manga, we saw how quickly she shut down his hollowfication just by yelling at him when she came back in Hueco Mundo arc, she makes him a better person. Ichigo without Rukia to ground him: killing 👍.

Dude, the way ichiruki's infantilize Ichigo to the point of making him seem desperately codependent on Rukia is so weird. But, as we learned in The Blade is Me chapters (x) (x) Ichigo's hollow is actually his protector, which Orihime learned and accepted in chapter 676 (x). It's his zanpakuto, his greatest protector, a manifestation of his very soul...and as you've just admitted, Rukia's never even seen it lmao. Way to self own your own ship there, bud 😉

Antis : Ichigo didn’t went to HM to save Orihime. He just wanted to fight.

Kubo : *uses every characters and their mama to say that Ichigo wants to protect/save Orihime*

Antis really be acting as if the saving trope isn’t something that get repeat in EVERY shounen. Them saying that saving Orihime arc was just a bad copy of Rukia’s, really makes me wonder if they are familiar with shounen tropes. Like. The saving trope is in every shounen and will be repeated multiple times for different characters. Like in One piece with Luffy going after Nami then Robin, then Sanji. Or even him always saving princesses and their kingdoms, like vivi, shiraoshi, Rebecca with somewhat the same trope structure but still different and reflecting the differents relationships.

I don’t have the habit of periodically re-read Bleach manga for some reason, so in conjunction with the ending of the manga and the endgame in place, I restarted it with an intention to get a refreshed reading experience–specifically, I went back into the manga looking for clues that I have previously missed out, and that includes the significance of Ichigo & Rukia’s relationship.

ie. I was trying to recall why I didn’t ship it romantically.

I still retain the opinion that the Soul Society arc is one of the most compelling arcs in shonen, and I believe that the weight of the plot was the primary reason why I wasn’t interested in who would eventually bone who, then I reached this page and all the memories came flooding down:

Because I just realised that this was the first thing that clued me into Ichigo’s idea of romance.
