Look at his face! Really look at it! There are like 20 different emotions going on all at ounce!

Relief that Magnus knows about what Alec wanted to do on the balcony that night. He wanted to propose, he wanted to be with Magnus forever, it was never his intention to leave.

Guilt that Magnus might be upset that Alec traded his happiness so that Magnus could get his powers back.

Disbelief that he is finally getting a chance at his happy ending. Alec never imagined he would get to have it all: his dream job, his family supporting him, and a man that he so desperately loves, loving him just as much.

Fear that all of this will be taken from him, because the sky is literally falling and the city that represents his race is being destroyed.

A bit of clarity, like he knows what is about to happen. He knows Magnus, and he knows that Magnus will never walk away when there are people in need of help.

Determination to fix whatever is about to happen. He know that there is a sacrifice coming, and he intends to fix it.

Resignation to bare whatever burden is necessary in Magnus’ plan. Because Alec has always been the type to willingly suffer if it was for the good of his people.
