There was always an acute sense of self-awareness whenever she and Lena were in the same place at once.
Most of her life, Rebecca spent noticing everything and everyone, stressing about life in general. She was, for the most part, hypervigilante of the world around her and what to do or not do to be comfortable with her part in it. With Lena, it was the complete opposite. She was hyperaware of her own skin, the clothes that covered them. Her movements and even the way her blood traveled through her body and how it warmth her entire body to have the other near; the world around them disappearing in an instant.
It was equal parts addictive as it was terrifying to be present and detached to not fall on a territory she knew she couldnt cross. It was a dangerous game she played with herself, one she wouldn't even bring herself to play for anyone else but as everything else in her life, Lena was the exception to many of her rules.
As self aware as she made her, Lena also had the power to calm the constant inner battle Rebecca usually imparted on herself without even needing a word. It was a power she wasn't ready to give to anyone else, yet she knew if someone was safe to let her guard with and let in to the point of trust they shared, that was the woman in front of her and expect no foul play. Although never discussed as neither of them were big communicating their feelings they knew that whatever one felt towards the other it was merely the mirror of the other's heart. Lena knew Rebecca so well and vice versa that their minds and hearts were well-connected, as cheesy as that sounded.
"Call me next time and I'll join, will you? If there's anyone I'd break my no violence stance for, that's you and the promise of your eternal youth" she jested. Her neck then turned a soft shade of rouge as Lena's attention fell on her, a rather nervous chuckle falling from her lips at the wave of compliments. "That's a secret I'll never tell, just never make me go near water or ask me to sing" the playful banter deliciously and dangerously familiar. "Which reminds meโ have you order yet? Are you in the mood for anything in particular?"
