Why Do You Wish To Apply At A.I.Land?: To share the joy of adventure and excitement with those all around and that upbringing certainly does not define who you truly are or who you can be!
The last line of the application really resonated with Ai and his usual smile was a little morose.
"Yeah, I think that's a good lesson for people to learn."
He wished that someone had been around to tell him that when he was younger. Maybe things would have turned out differently...
"Anyway, I think you're a perfect applicant!" He clapped his hands together, any traces of sadness gone. "You can start right away. I can't wait to see your act!" He smiled, more amused than anything as he remembered some rumors about this 'Sinbad'.
"I understand there's an urban beach in the park you might be interested in. Please remember that the park is for all ages and to dress appropriately."

Prior Personal/Professional Experience:Â I havenât had any professional experience, however, I am a duelist if that counts? I had a deck of my own, and I do my best to look after it. And as well, I used to look after my little sister a lot and keep her entertained while our parents were busy with other stuff so it might not be professional but I figure Iâm at least ok at watching energetic kids.
Otherwise, I also think I would do well at grounds maintenance. I kept houseplants at home and they did well, and Iâm a tidy person so Iâm good at keeping things organized. And Iâm also a fairly quiet person, so I donât think Iâd bother Rock Golem.
Why Do You Wish To Apply At A.I.Land?:Â If I may be perfectly honest, I really like Duel Monsters and games in general and I think it would be a really cool place to work. Two of my friends are really good at the game, and Iâm not anywhere near their level but I do love it and think working here would be really neat. And because I know the game, I figure I could help explain things to people who aren't from the same world, and don't really know what they are.
Also I kinda need a job, because Iâm broke.
When he finished reading the application, he barked out a surprised laugh at the last line.
"Well, that is one of the reasons I decided to make this park open to the public. Might as well have a job somewhere that's fun, right? At least I know you're honest! Hmm... I don't see why you couldn't do both jobs. Your main job will be Duel Monster Caretaker, but any hours you spend on Grounds Maintenance, I'll pay you for those as well."
"You'll probably find taking care of the Monsters a lot more like looking after children than a deck. They're all fully sentient creatures and their ages range from ten-years-old, to just barely one. Oh, and don't worry about Rock Golem. He's just a little socially awkward. I just need you to sign this extra form stating that you won't hurt any of the Cyberse Monsters unless it's in self defense. Don't worry! It's just typical paperwork stuff. Even the large ones are very gentle by nature."

The fireworks were well underway and would be until the park closed at 12am.
These fireworks, custom designed by the Park Director exploded into colorful shapes and patterns. Emojis, popular Duel Monsters, planets, stars, cute animals, and many others could be seen among the display.
Apparently not a fan of loud, sudden noises, the fireworks themselves made little noise. The majority of the sound came from a crowd-pleasing playlist that boomed throughout the park, the bass and beats vibrating through your chest. The fireworks when erupted to the rhythm of the songs playing, making for quite the spectacle.
No announcement had been made about the supposed staff birthdays the fireworks were meant to celebrate. If you glanced up and away from the fireworks for a brief moment, you could see the silhouettes of two people sitting together on what looked like a hoverboard far above the crowd.
Were those the special birthday guests? They certainly had the best seat in the house. Either way, it didnât look like theyâd be joining the crowd anytime soon.
For today only, weâre happy to announce that anyone who wants to come and celebrate two very special park staff birthdays with us will be granted free admission!
In addition, the park will remain open past itâs normal hours and from 8pm until 12am EST a fireworks show will take place!

Well, this is mainly for Liquus, Iâm applying since Liquus is apparently a power in this place, so gotta be in the intraspace so he can be there as well! I also want to keep an eye on him as heâs a little grumpy to new people currently. (He wasnât before, but then something happened.)Â
Another thing is that this place seems interesting! These âduel monstersâ are like Liquus, so I bet heâll have fun here!Â

âAi told you they looked like your Marincess Duel Monsters, didnât I?â

âItâs a little unusual that someone would sign their companion up for a job⊠but as long as heâs capable I donât see why not!â They were pretty cute kids. Who could say no to those faces when they asked someone to buy something?
âSince youâre both applying together, as long as at least one of you is minding the store, the other one is free run around the park.â If anything, Ai is happy to give out jobs to kids who need them in a safe environment.
âIâm sure you two will like it here! The Duel Monsters are very friendly, even if they canât speak. I have a feeling that Water Leviathan will especially like you! I hope you get your groove back soon, Liquus.â
A.I.Land Answers: Just What Are âDuel Monstersâ?
âWeâve received numerous questions of this nature since we opened our doors, and it made me remember that Duel Monsters arenât a staple of this world like they are in mine. Allow me to explain the basics of them for you!â Costume change!
âSupposedly itâs thought that Duel Monsters - âDMsâ for short - originate in Ancient Egypt, where people would use magic to bring spirits - the Duel Monsters - to life and battle with them! Whether you believe this or not, DMs have changed a lot since then. Nowadays, âDuel Monstersâ is a card game, named after the Monsters themselves, where the Monstersâ spirits, souls, data, - whatever you want to call it - are encased in cards, like the one Iâve made for my good friend Protron.â Ai pulls up a holoscreen to project an image of a playing card on it.
âCute right? I think I really captured their image~ Anyway, without going too much into it, âDuelistsâ basically play this game by drawing a card and summoning the DM shown on it. They try and summon more and more powerful monsters to defeat their opponentâs and then attack their opponent themselves. Duel Monsters are usually summoned on one of these-â
âknown as âDuel Disksâ! The Monsters themselves can be as small as basketballs, like Linky here-â he pets Linkuriboh who is lying by his side and gives a happy chirp at Aiâs attentions,Â
âor they can be much, much bigger.â The holoscreen shows an image of Playmaker with two of his Ace Monsters, Decode Talker and Firewall dragon. Both easily dwarf him in size.
âNow for how Duel Monster interact with the physical city of Spirale and the Intraspace...
...Iâd like to direct you to this little line on Protronâs card where it says âCyberseâ.â
âThis is where you will find the DMsâ type. Because Protron is a Cyberse Monster, that means they were created by one of six super computers with free will that used to exist in my world. As such, Protron, and all Cyberse Monsters, are capable of thinking for themselves, learning, and feeling emotions. They are living organisms, although digital ones, and can feel pain as well. Most Cyberse Monsters are very intelligent, some even rival or exceed human intellect. Unfortunately, they do not speak any language that requires a tongue...â
âBut anyway, Cyberse Monsters are also unique in that they live in virtual worlds, like the Intraspace. There, they are just as physically present as your avatar is and are able to cause you actual harm, as seen here by this Duelist whom has received an attack from Decode Talkersâ sword.â
âIn the physical world, this manifests as mental damage done to your physical brain. Duelists have been known to fall into a coma or even die when subjected to severe mental damage. Were Decode Talker summoned in Spirale, a physical world, he would have been able to do blunted damage that would have hurt like the Duelist had been cut, but not left any physical damage on their avatar unless they were thrown into something, like the Duelist seen here.â
âIn the same vein, if a DM lit you on fire in the physical world, your body wouldnât actually suffer burns, but it would feel as if you were burning.â Ai shrugs, âbut I guess Iâm way off topic now because all of my Duel Monster friends would never attack anyone unless they were provoked.â
He holds up a finger. âOh, and one more thing! The Duel Monstersâ shape will likely affect how they act. A cute little robot-like DM will act like a cute little robot, a humanoid one will act more like a human, a dragon will act more like a dragon, etcetera. So little Linky here acts like a cross between a little robot and a small dog.â Lukuriboh looks up at Ai, seemingly offended. âAh! But a very smart and very cute little dog!â The small bot gives a pleased hum as if placated. âRemember, whatever form they take, they are intelligent beings with unique personalities that can understand human speech.â
Holding his chin in his palm, Ai muses, âIâm starting to sound like a certain professor I know. Giving such long lectures... But the takeaways from this are:
Duel Monsters are just as much living beings as you or I
They are intelligent creatures whose personalities range from extremely friendly to grumpy and anti-social, but they wonât attack you first
Their forms often affect their personalities and how they react to situations

A tiny building in Fibonacci with a massive neon sign that spells out âA.I.Landâ holds a small, comfy waiting room containing two portals to the Intraspace. The portals here lead directly to a private server in the Intraspace containing a giant theme park... The titular A.I.Land! Spiraleâs first and only Intraspace theme park!
This park is the product of Executive Park Director Aiâs dreams: to create a place where virtual and physical beings can interact in harmony and both can be happy and content! This is the only place where the citizens of Spirale can freely interact with the unique virtual beings known as Duel Monsters.
