x. out ; a bit late for a response, but nonetheless. i still check in a little frequently here & i have a strong interest of reviving this blog. it’s been a pleasure seeing you here recently, too & i hope everything has been going well for you in recent days.

x. his ears are burning.
for the breath of a moment, sharp green eyes cut over to where the accused whispers among themselves. they stand just out of his peripheral, but he pays them little to no mind, even if they’ve caught the attention of his traveling companion that stands far removed from his castle walls. unfolding his arms from the comfortable cross they’d been in, he settles a hand atop the sword sheathed at his side, finger tapping at the end of the hilt while the other filters through the length of his hair, throwing it over his shoulder.
the words they speak; are they wrong? – hmph. at the end of the day, it’s not worth wasting his breath.
his concern – richard’s – is vaguely inspiring; but the likes of it is fragile & easily crushed under any substantial pressure. his reputation needs not be ruined over something so trivial. perhaps richard isn’t used to the way they speak of his kind. words were only capable of scratching the surface, but anyone born within the muck of the half-elven race – their curse was the god-forsaken blood running through their veins. they were born & bred unlucky from the inside out, forced between the narrow margin of ‘ life ’ and ‘ survival ’.
there was a day that their words would have caused him to grind his teeth with anger, but he’ll no sooner revisit his youth than he will that basement.
be it a man of nobility or a nameless wanderer, the manner in which he delivers his thought is all the same. acute – nonchalant. “don’t get distracted, we came here for a reason.” & listening to the idle banter of strangers wasn’t exactly anywhere to be found on his list of priorities. one finger is all that’s necessary to adjust the glasses perched across the bridge of his nose before he picks up his stride. “i’ll be waiting outside of the city gates. if you need something, i suggest you take care of it while the opportunity is at hand.”

what an amazing human bean!! i’ve known you in the tumblr rp scene for a long time, since i started writing in fact, but it wasn’t until i made emil’s blog that you & i finally really got to connect. the passion you have for your muses and the dedication to each and every one of them is something to be admired. i love talking meta with you about our muses, we’re on such a similar page and we’ve gotten to develop the relationship between these two so much it’s surreal. you’re such an incredible and tolerant little bean ( let’s be real you gotta be patient dealin’ with me ;D ) and i can’t wait to see what the future holds for both us and our muses. i hope you had an amazing day full of friends and cake and fun and cake!!

the richter/richard dynamic still intrigues me greatly. a man of the highest social status and a man of the lowest.

i told you not to get lost in the wilds. i sent you omens and all kinds of signs.
it lightens the burden of worry to know that richter feels well enough to traverse the town’s walkways on his own two feet, though the admitted worrywart side of the boy prefers to err on the side of caution; hence the sidelong glances stolen every once in awhile as they tread, waiting for any sign of fatigue ( assuming pride may prevent the half-elf from admittance ). still – fretting nature aside, it warms his chest to be able to walk like this, side by side, and it displays itself rather openly in the smile which has remained almost stubbornly upon upturned tiers since they left the inn.
the city certainly held many magnificent sights & smells, the likes of which emil hadn’t previously had the opportunity to fully investigate ( he looks forward to it ). another curious look, a bit more direct this time, and hands clasp at the small of his back. ‘ —- are you getting hungry at all? ’
x. this form of normalcy is foreign in its entirety. the earlier years of his life have been dictated, the latter half driven with purpose. his steps have been guided in the pursuit of research; treading thereafter on the hot coals of vengeance, and now the ashen wake that he’s yet to fully decipher. old wounds now have the opportunity to fade into scars, but it’s difficult to uncurl such tightly bound fists. the half-elf had deigned his future to be rapt in the flames of his own transcribed mana: a fitting hell for what he had condoned.
but to be walking here alongside the last person he ever anticipated -- hmph. maybe fate had a more suitable idea somewhere along this road.
“emil. just how often do you eat?” that energy; he must expend it quickly while grinning like a fool. such is his attitude ever since they stepped out into the street. remarkably nostalgic, so the words lack a certain sharpness. “i’m still working on the abundance you provided this morning, so i can’t say that i am -- but you’re welcome to satisfy your own appetite.” his long stride continues while a hand rises to adjust his glasses at the bridge of their frame. “to be frank,” as he commonly happens to be, “i have interests in visiting the local weaponsmith.”
