so Im at my wits end trying to find this fanfiction I read years ago

I cant remember if its OFC or Reader-insert; but it had to do with the person being held in a hydra facility, I distinctly remember they were chained up and the neck collar had melded with their skin. The avengers came and saved them but due to severe PTSD they were very quiet and it took a long time to be more open, I believe they eventually either had a relationship with Bucky or with Steve.

It’s been driving me crazy I cant remember this and apparently I did not bookmark it anywhere

Ya’ll know this confirms the theory that Steve actually could lift the hammer in AOU, but chose not to, right? The way he doesn’t look surprised that the hammer came to him? Also, you have to call the hammer, it doesn’t just randomly fly at you. So, he knew. He’s always known.

I suspect, in AOU, he either didn’t want to embarrass Thor, or he didn’t want to have to answer questions / get shit from the rest of the Avengers. They already had the ‘language’ thing, they didn’t need more ammo.
