Another year, another new set of students. She sighed as she placed her bags down, going over the list of her future students. At least this class was smaller than her previous one, giving her the option to focus more on them 1:1. Not a single name stood out for her, not a name she recognized or knew from her days before being a student. It was always quite fun to read the names of student and realizing on at parent’s evening  that she went to uni with the parents and held the student’s mother’s hair more than once while the now mother sobbed into the toilet about how her dumb ex had dumped her. Not this time. 

The first weeks went without any bigger problems, mostly used to get everyone on the same level. The first parent’s evening was about to start any minute. She put the last notes of the day away when a knock on the door interrupted her train of thoughts. The first parent must be here! “Come in!”, she called out.

The open door revealed…wow, what a man. Built like a god, she eyed him quickly from head to toe. His hair was slicked back, a mustache complimenting his upper lip. Only thing that left her wondering were the slight burn marks on his face, but hey, she had seen worse things in her life as teacher. One kid had a glass eye and liked to scare his peers by taking it out of his socket. First time she saw this happening, her heart nearly stopped then and there too!

“Good evening. I’m Mister Walker.” “Good evening to you too! You must be Lisa’s father then!” “That’s right.” “Please, Mr. Walker, have a seat!”

The other parents joined Mr. Walker not too long after, the class filling up with people from every point of life. Once again, the meeting went without much hassle and drama, and the parents went on to grab a drink and a small bite from the buffet provided.

“May I ask you something, Ms. (Y/L/N)?”, once again she was ripped out of her thoughts (which were around puppies by the time she was approached!) by the handsome Mr. Walker.

“Of course Mr. Walker.”

“Tell me, is Lisa a good student? I raised her all alone without her mother around, so I am worried there might be problems.”, Mr. Walker started to explain, but all she could do was shake her head.

“Oh no, Mr. Walker. Lisa is a delight in class. A bright girl who never stops being a creative force. There is only one thing you could tell her, because I am not able to get into her head with this - worksheets and homework are for working and not for doodling on, even though I greatly enjoyed the Pikachu she drew on yesterday’s homework!”

Family members she hadn’t heard of in years suddenly wanted to snoop back into her life, claiming some bullshit reason why they hadn’t contacted her. The intention behind their messages was as clear as the sky, suddenly she was someone, suddenly she had access to more money.

Some of the messages were from fans. Most of them were normal, wishing them luck, or just asking mundane things like how Kal is feeling on this very day. But the mean ones left their impact on her. One time she was an “obese cow”, other times she was a “skeletton who looks she died three days ago”. There was no way to find peace with these hateful people. “Wait a moment babe, let me call back my mother real quick.”, Henry said as he noticed the missed call on his phone. On days off, he liked to turn his phone off or at least mute it. No one should be able to interrupt his precious time off, something so sacred and spare. But mothers…mothers always come first. Henry took his phone and went upstairs into their shared bedroom. Peace and quiet while calling mother…that’s how he liked it.

“That’s fine.”, she smiled and turned her attention to the other man in her life - Kal. Henry’s dog was one fine and gigantic dog - a bear, just how he liked to call his best friend. Kal’s tail was wiggling so fast, a bit more and it would just fly off into the distance, never to be found again. “Oh my, aren’t you a happy puppy?”, she asked and got up, grabbing the frisbee Kal loved so much from the table. This only increased the tail wiggling per minute frequency!

“Come on mom…pick up…”, Henry muttered as the beeps of the connection kept him on his toes. What did she want anyways? As he waited, Henry leaned against the wall by the window, giving him a great view of the garden. The garden where Kal and his sweetheart were currently playing, jumping around and having a good time. 

“Oh Henry, finally you called me back! See, about the party we…”

“There you go big boy!”, Kal’s barking overshadowed her voice a lot but she didn’t mind. She and the big puppy were having a good time and that’s what mattered. Not a single care in the world, just a fluffy boy and his new mom!

But even Kal grew tired of his favourite toy at some point. Instead of charging after the frisbee, he decided it was cuddle time with his new favourite human! He pushed her down with all his love-force, falling into the grass with her. “Hey! Not fair!”, she giggled as Kal started to lick over her face, burying his snout into her side, showing her all of his love and appreciation.

“Yes, mother, of course, yes…”, Henry muttered as his mother talked and talked and talked about the upcoming party she had planned with her friends. Of course he should come over too if he had the time, they all loved her famous son so much! But his thoughts took him somewhere else once he caught the scene in the garden. His darling and Kal cuddled up in the garden, Kal clearly exhausted from a lot of playing and her still being her cute self, not a hint of annoyance due to the big bear snuggling up to her. Sometimes, Kal tended to forget he was 100 pounds instead of 10… but that happened to the best of us, didn't it?

If Kal loved her so much, this means she was right for Henry. Kal wouldn’t let anyone come close who even had as much as a single bad thought about Henry before. She was the one.

It all came crashing down in seconds. The thoughts of the future, a house with a big garden, Kal and his kids playing in the shadows of the trees as Henry and his sweetheart were laying on their deckchair, Henry rubbing over her pregnant belly. This is the future he had wanted, and this is the future he’d get with her. Butterflies in his stomach as if it was the first time he had ever seen her, all the love coming back to him.

“Henry? Are you still here?”

“Yes mother. Sorry, I just realized something important.”

The crowd erupted in applause as the two came into the studio, waving at the fans. One fan threw some flowers at Henry, which he caught with a laugh.

The two sat down next to each other, opposite of the host of the talk show.

“So, you two...big movies are coming along for the both of you!”, the host started, first looking over to Henry. “Mr. Cavill, it’ll be a pleasure to see you as Superman again! When the news hit that DC signed you for another three movies, my wife came yelling to me ‘Graham, Graham, you need to get Henry on your show! I want to see him!”’, the host imitated his wife’s voice, laughter came from both the stars and the crowd. “And now, thankfully, you are here, and my wife won’t divorce me.”

“What a lucky fella you are. Tell your wife all the best.”, Henry smiled, before the host looked over to (Y/N).

“And you! Oh, the rising star of Hollywood!”, she blushed, looking down to her hands before back to the host. “What a movie you have been working on! Marvel Comics made the right choice when they signed you as (Your character’s name)!”

“Thank you”, she smiled, still a bit nervous about the attention being drawn to her. She was used to smaller interviews and talk shows, but right now, half of America was watching. Henry gave her thigh a soft squeeze, reassuring her that everything was okay.

“But now, you two are the power couple of Hollywood”, the host addressed both, cheering coming from the crowd in the studio. “But there is this little thing we want to know from you…”

Henry and (Y/N) both looked a bit confused at his proposition, not knowing what the host was about to ask.

“You are playing in rivaling movie universes! So we need to know...who is your favourite character in the opposite universe!”

The crowd roared at this idea, curious what their answers would be.

“Henry, let's start with you. Who is your favourite character in the MCU?”

Henry smiled over to his girlfriend, squeezing her thigh once more before answering, a gesture which wasn’t left unnoticed by the crowd, some whistling at this, and he knew the gifs of this interaction would be on Tumblr in record time.

To prepare for the role, we read the comics together and tried to find out what makes her character so unique. I am a lucky guy because I have seen a few scenes so far, and I can tell you she’s an amazing actress, gives (your character’s name) so much more depth and emotion…”, Henry answered, while never taking his eyes off her. He was in full heart eyes mode, and the crowd could barely contain their excitement.

The host smiled, loving these two lovebird, “And what about you, (Y/N)? Who is your favourite character in the DC universe?”

The answer came straight up, without missing a beat, “Batman!”

The crowd roared with laughter, and Henry gave her his most shocked look. “Darling! How could you betray me like this!”

She had to laugh now too, punching Henry’s shoulder playfully as he pretended to be mad. Henry stuck out his bottom lip and looked away from her, which caused everyone to laugh even harder.

“Aw, come on baby.”, she laughed, pinching his cheek as Henry pouted even more. She turned to face to the audience, giving them a questioning look, “What do you think, how can I make him happy again?”

“Kiss him!”, one girl yelled, and others joined in.

“Kiss, kiss, kiss!”, the audience yelled towards them, and even the host joined him.

She gave Henry a look with raised eyebrows, making sure he was alright with it too.

Henry nodded, was already smiling by this point. She cupped Henry’s cheeks and leaned in, giving him the softest kiss they had ever shared in their relationship, the crowd going insane. Cheering, whistling, even some flashes from a camera happened while the two shared an intimate moment together.

When the two separated, the host took it upon himself to lead into the commercial break.
