Some periods of our growth are so confusing that we don’t even recognize that growth is happening. We may feel hostile or angry or weepy and hysterical, or we may feel depressed. It would never occur to us, unless we stumbled on a book or a person who explained to us, that we were in fact in the process of change, of actually becoming larger, spiritually, than we were before. Whenever we grow, we tend to feel it, as a young seed must feel the weight and inertia of the earth as it seeks to break out of its shell on its way to becoming a plant. Often the feeling is anything but pleasant. But what is most unpleasant is the not knowing what is happening. Those long periods when something inside ourselves seems to be waiting, holding its breath, unsure about what the next step should be, eventually become the periods we wait for, for it is in those periods that we realize that we are being prepared for the next phase of our life and that, in all probability, a new level of the personality is about to be revealed.

“Align what you do with who you are.” – @jonathanfields #reminder
but you are always too intense frightening in the way you want him unashamed and sacrificial
...
closed your mouth more tried to be softer prettier less volatile, less awake
...
you can’t make homes out of human beings
...
you are terrifying and strange and beautiful something not everyone knows how to love.
Our own projections, selfish expectations and exaggerations are the foundations of attachment and the unavoidable disappointment.

Reminder.
“This is the thing: When you hit 28 or 30, everything begins to divide. You can see very clearly two kinds of people. On one side, people who have used their 20s to learn and grow, to find … themselves and their dreams, people who know what works and what doesn’t, who have pushed through to become real live adults. Then there’s the other kind, who are hanging onto college, or high school even, with all their might. They’ve stayed in jobs they hate, because they’re too scared to get another one. They’ve stayed with men or women who are good but not great, because they don’t want to be lonely. … they mean to develop intimate friendships, they mean to stop drinking like life is one big frat party. But they don’t do those things, so they live in an extended adolescence, no closer to adulthood than when they graduated.
Don’t be like that. Don’t get stuck. Move, travel, take a class, take a risk. There is a season for wildness and a season for settledness, and this is neither. This season is about becoming. Don’t lose yourself at happy hour, but don’t lose yourself on the corporate ladder either. Stop every once in a while and go out to coffee or climb in bed with your journal.
Ask yourself some good questions like: “Am I proud of the life I’m living? What have I tried this month? … Do the people I’m spending time with give me life, or make me feel small? Is there any brokenness in my life that’s keeping me from moving forward?”
Now is your time. Walk closely with people you love, and with people who believe … life is a grand adventure. Don’t get stuck in the past, and don’t try to fast-forward yourself into a future you haven’t yet earned. Give today all the love and intensity and courage you can, and keep traveling honestly along life’s path.”

James Baldwin sent warning of Romney/Ryan 2012
and this period in time where we give attention to smoke and mirrors, song and dance, and media/political characters who can manipulate with savvy and grace…over truth, integrity and substance.
“…a civilization is not destroyed by wicked people; it is not necessary that people be wicked but only that they be spineless.” —James Baldwin, The Fire Next Time
So many things I still don't know, so many times I've changed my mind...so when I stumble off the path, I know my heart will guide me back.

An honor.
A moment of impact...
Whose potential for change Has ripple effects far beyond what we can predict Sending some particles crashing together Making them closer than before While sending others spinning off into great ventures Landing where you never thought you'd find them You see, that's the thing about moments like these You can't, no matter how hard you try, control how they're gonna affect you You just gotta let the colliding particles land where they may
And wait . . .
...and in no time, you'll be fine.
Mark 9:23-24 NKJV
23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help [me overcome] my unbelief!”
