What aesthetic are Kirby games I need to study it like a science

I think my basic take on the world of Kirby is that, aside from the obvious, being whimsical and colourful, they’re also expansive, and tend to have elements that surprise you with details and textures that accentuate that whimsy eg.

- these kind of steampunk metal houses also being a rainbow of milk cartons with straws for chimneys?!

- these little sandstone roses in the desert area just charmed the pants off me, but big diagonal pyramids with colourful blue and purple geometric patterns give this desert area a unique feel too compared to other games

- chunks of planets and star shaped rocks floating in this enormous ocean cave

- underwater light shades?! what will they think of next…

- when in doubt…. star shaped accents baby

- the architecture in Kirby, particularly KSSU I find can be surprisingly articulate, it’s just a matter of accenting it with some other fun elements, or saturating those colours
