and absolutely i can yap for a minute about my familial DE hcs, they're really my favourite things in the world LMAO. let's go through 'em! welcome to:
Table's Familial Date Everything Propaganda(s)!
celia & fantina: ohh this is one of my FAVOURITES!! so if you've played through fantina's route, you've likely seen that one of her collectables is of her parents. one is a simple table fan, and another is a ceiling fan, which made me think...what if. and hear me out. what if the ceiling fan is like celia's brother or something 😭😭😭 what if celia is fantina's aunt. or even just pseudo-aunt. and what if they were kind of estranged. they know they're related but they haven't really said anything because celia is afraid to reach out and fantina doesn't know if celia even wants to talk to her :(
the last time celia saw her, she was little still. and she knows it's her fault she hasn't reached out. she has a framed photo hidden in her desk drawer of her with a little baby fantina and when fantina finds out about it she bursts into tears. eventually after fantina goes through her route where she breaks out of her obsessiveness, she realises she's also been neglecting her other relationships and schedules a meeting with celia. and after that they start hanging out more because celia misses her niece and fantina misses having someone who is actually there for her. SOBS.
florence & zoey: as i've said in the other post that you've so kindly linked for me, i love the idea that florence had known zoey since before she died. as we know, zoey spent a lot of time on the floor as that's where the ritual stuff with rudy happened. and we also know she died from falling. where? on the FLOOR. enter: a lot of unresolved guilt and trauma on florence's side, zoey thinking she's alone and nobody thought about her after she passed. imagine when the seance works and zoey comes back. someone sends her to celia's office to get her situated and florence stops. because that's the girl she knew. and she's back. and she couldn't save her.
cue florence and zoey bonding because zoey realises that someone really did care for her even though rudy didn't, and florence being assured that zoey's death wasn't her fault, and then eventually coming to terms with the fact that zoey sees her as a mother figure. AUGH
also linking into the first propaganda, just imagine fantina and zoey working together to get celia and florence to admit their feelings for each other. i just think that's funny as fuck. fangirling over their mother figures. they're like sisters in a way
stella & penelope: this one's a little sillier. it's mostly just penelope being sad over her failed dates and stella comforting her. in one part of stella's route, when she's asking for you to recruit people to airway, one of them is penelope. she signs up for airway because she thinks stella looks sad and she feels bad.
i think a lot of objects realise that stella is lonely and don't really know how to help that, especially penelope, who is above all things just very awkward. but one day she sits on the stairway moping about her dates, and stella comes and says she can talk to her. and penelope goes ham. and she realises that stella is really sweet and nice to talk to. and stella hypes her up. and penelope eventually helps her realise that there are other ways to 'do something', rather than be part of a pyramid scheme. LOL.
dorian & penelope: to me this links into the prev one where they're like, a family unit LMAO. dorian isn't huge on dating but he is huge on listening to penelope talk about her dates, and he is very supportive of her despite his own misgivings about love and stuff. he probably tries setting her up sometimes. he pretends to be annoyed by all her yapping but secretly he does enjoy the office romance goss.
wyndolyn & maggie: OOOUUH this is a fun one! for obvious reasons it's glass and glass, LOL. but also they're both snoops. wyndolyn maybe snoops without gathering any sort of evidence first, but maggie snoops ethically. i like to think wyndolyn enjoys bothering maggie with her case files and details about what's happening around the house, and maggie gets annoyed by her (lovingly). they have a few scenes in height difference and they are just very funny to me.
gaia & shadowlord: ok so admittedly i haven't thought MUCH about them past the whole "he's literally her shadow" but i think they could be a hilarious duo. shadowlord explains all of his shadow lore to gaia and gaia tells him facts about every single country in the world.
