Xiumin: “Minseok,” you start off, having decided that you want to tell him that you are related to Yifan. “I’m just wondering… did I ever look familiar to you when you first met me?” He tilts his head, trying to remember, then: “Ah! Yes, you seemed really familiar, as if I had known you for years. But maybe that was also partly from your personality? Hmm…” He’s lost in thought when you say, “I probably seem familiar because I’m related to one of the boys.” He snaps out of his thoughts and his jaw drops, then he leans forward, examining your features. You begin to grin uncontrollably, but don’t say anything. “You’re… Tao’s? No. Yifan.” You nod and he smiles. “Wahh, I can’t believe I never noticed before… is he doing alright?” He wouldn’t make too big of a deal out of it, but he would be exploding on the inside with indescribable emotions.
Suho: You find Junmyeon scrolling through his computer’s storage, and he’s deep into a file labelled “EXO - Before”. You lean over his shoulder and find pictures of him with Kris and Luhan and Tao in the background and your throat tightens. Should you tell him? You should. You wrap his arms around him and say softly, “One of them is my older brother.” He puts his hands on yours, not processing, then comes to a realization at the words you have spoken. “What?” he asks disbelievingly. You point at Yifan, then yourself, and nod. He looks to the picture then back at you and blinks, negative emotions flooding his fragile state of mind. “Why didn’t you tell me?” he asks softly, thinking of the almost-two years that have passed by without communication with ex-members. You detach yourself from him and leave him be, knowing that he won’t want to talk until he has sorted out his feelings. He would have a more negative reaction to this situation, as he is the leader and finds himself at fault for not taking care of the three members that have left.
Lay: He’d be running to get your phone which is buzzing with vibrations. When he sees that the message is from “Yifan Gege” he stills, tightens up. He’d be really confused as to how this could be possible, if it really was possible - was it the same Wu Yifan who shared your surname, a friendship? He would be the most hopeful after he goes through a long thought-process, then confronts you about it. When you tell him it is the same Wu Yifan, he brightens in joy at the thought of being able to communicate with his long-lost brother again. “Is it possible I could talk to him soon?” he asks, eyes wide with hope.
Baekhyun: The phone is ringing in the kitchen. Baekhyun stands up to retrieve it and get it for you, but it stops and he hears your voice start up. “Gege, what’s up? Ah, yeah, I’m okay, how about you?” He enters the emporium of foods, interested as to what your brother is like. “Ah - Baekhyun, can you put this on speaker? Thank you!” You kiss his cheek lightly and return to cooking, continuing your conversation with your brother. When Yifan’s distinct voice travels through the speakers and echos in the room, Baekhyun stares at the caller information and starts grinning. “Hyung! Hyung!” he exclaims, excitement building up inside of him. “It’s me, Baekhyun! Byun Baekhyun!” He takes a seat at the dining table and talks to Yifan, happy that he can be in contact with his old friend again.
Chen: “Hey, hey, Jongdae? Look at this funny ‘gif’,” you say, and hand over your phone to him. It’s one that dates back to the EXO Showtime days, and he laughs out loud, then falters when he sees Kris behind the recorded Chen. “Ah, do you miss him?” you murmur softly. He dips his head, and you squeeze his hand. “You know,” you begin hesitantly, “I could contact him for you, maybe you could even talk to him.” “What do you mean?” he asks, staring at you with a speck of doubt and a speck of hope in his distinct eyes. “I’m - I’m his sister, Jongdae,” you admit. He stares at you in subdued shock. He doesn’t know how to respond at all. He would love the idea of speaking to him again, but he is confused as to why he didn’t know this earlier.
Chanyeol: “You know, I’ve always thought you looked familiar, even when I first met you,” Chanyeol admits, staring at you with his head resting on his hand. You laugh and say, “Maybe that’s because I look like someone you’ve met?” You know exactly why he thinks that, but haven’t known if you should tell him or not. “It’s the eyes…” he murmurs, lost in your eyes. “Or the nose? Eyebrows. Something.” He shakes his head and pushes you a plate of food that you’d love to eat, but don’t want to eat at the moment. “Eat, jagiya!” he insists. “Mmm, not my style,” you murmur, taking a sip of water and realizing what you just said. He stares at you for a moment and his eyes widen. “You remind me of him so much,” he says in awe. “Because I’m Yifan’s sister,” you say at last. He stares at you with a slight smile, then averts his gaze, trying to process but unable to take on such an idea, a reality. He would spend the rest of the day getting used to this new information.
D.O.: “Kyungsoo, what’s this folder?” He has just finished showing pictures of his latest stop during his world tour, and he’s clicking out. You point at a folder labelled “pre-debut EXO memories”. He glances down at his hands, smiling a little at remembering what some of those pictures are, but frowns after. “Can I see?” you ask excitedly. He shrugs and lets you take control of the computer. You put it in slideshow and relax back into his arms. You laugh as the pictures pass by, then straighten when you see Kris’s face appear. “Wah, what’s this oppa doing,” you murmur, laughing. He catches your words and is surprised, shocked even, but doesn’t know if you mean to say the title out of a semi-respect, or if you were actually related to him. He decides to ask you about it later, and let you continue watching snippets from the past.
Kai: “Jongin, do you remember when we first met?” you ask, a slight smile dominating your features. He tilts his head in thought and nods, beaming. “We met at the restaurant, you had recognized me despite my facemask and disguise,” he remarks, remembering the day well. But you shake your head in disagreement, saying, “I met you before that! You don’t remember?” “Did we really? I don’t remember at all,” he admits, rubbing the nape of his neck. “I came here because I was visiting Yifan-oppa, we only talked for a moment, though,” you say carefully, watching his reaction. He takes a moment to process, matching faces to names and titles to relationships - and reaches the correct conclusion. “What?” he exclaims, surprised. “Wahhh, jinjaa? Wow. How is he? Is he doing alright?” He peppers you with questions, relieved at finding out he is doing well. He would be shocked that out of all the people in the world, he had fallen in love with you, who is his ex-member’s sister, but it’d be a pleasurable surprise.
Sehun: “Oh, what’s this?” Sehun pulls out a scrapbook, filled with photographs and various receipts and ticket stubs, memories you’ve compiled for yourself. “My memory book,” you say, and open it up. After a few pages, the pair of you come across a photo of you standing beside Yifan in front of a landmark. Your boyfriend doubles over in shock as he yells, “What?” He stares at you, then back at the photo, and sees the resemblance. “Are you really - his sister?” he asks, not knowing how to feel. You explain that you are and he sits there in shock, unable to make sense of all the turmoil passing through his train of thought.
