[edwardwindsor]
Edward narrowed his eyes, taking a large sip of his tea. âI donât think that trick would work on me. Thinking of sleep when Iâm not able to is torturous.â He absently pulled a hair off the dark fabric of his shirt. âI would just rather not have to roll out of bed at some ungodly hour like today. I always canât get to sleep on time the night before.â
âItâs not so much thinking of sleep as pretending you already are. Thereâs a song, isnât there? Something about life is only a dream? Pretend they are the same,â he shrugged, with a hint of sincerity that he wished they were. Though speaking of it rang true to the English princeâs words and the dark rings beneath his eyes felt heavier than they did moments before. âI think there are medicines for that, too. Mine is alcohol. What would be so wrong if you slipped back to bed? Are you here because there are things to do, or because itâs expected of you?â
