hewwo this is my first attempt at a short story in tumblr. its not perfect but please give some support and hope you guys like it ><
Settling Smiles
It was the most unforgettable autumn of all ,the most enchanting perhaps. Leaves that are shades of gold and caramel danced along; bursted to life by the swirling and twirling of the gentle breeze; which along with the leaves, carried the fragrance of the earth and a steady sense of slight joy that slowly tumbled to the welcoming embrace of the ground, giving a decent premonition of what was to happen ahead.
We were walking down the long winding road of the park ,which now had laid beneath a blanket of crisp golden leaves. Mirroring the regal golden sea on the ground, the foliage above too gave its best effort; allowing shafts of golden rays to pass through it, kissing us with its warmth ,all of these was as though it was choreographed. In the whole time ,she held my hands in hers, which for every step we took tingled and throbbed; mirrored only by the crunches that came from the ground for every step. I’d never forget how she looked from behind.
She wore a trench coat that was violet and blue, containing furs of sundry grey shades around its hood that sat on top of her coat, reminding me of the midwinter night before it was pitch black, it was mysterious, yet somehow mesmerising. standing in contrast was her auburn hair , tousled by the wind into curls with slight strands that separated from it cascading down , settling on her coat. And when she turned her head, her eyes spoke of a beautiful soul that sparkled with a mixture of brown and red that stood out more than our surroundings.
And as we reached the foot of a mighty oak ,she pulled me down to lie on the earth which besides her scent of sweet vanilla , was now mixed in with the freshness of the autumn leaves that carpeted the ground and I was entranced by her. “so...Will” , she began with a wobbly tone and was starting to get tense and clammy. Beats of crystal clear sweat seemed to form on her forehead “do you have anybody that you’ve… interest in ?” her cheeks were getting hot and red in colour, slowly drowning out the freckles that located on her face; she looked away. I wanted to say it was her, Ella, I can't recount the times I've thought about her, how she was the most gorgeous person I've met, how she was always sweet , funny and caring. Instead , I remained motionless, laying on the underside of the oak tree.
She looked at me intently, her eyes met mine and this sent my heart racing ever faster “hey..” she said “if i told you who i like, would you tell me yours too?” “okay….”i replied hesitantly. Time seemed to stop at this moment.it and slowly dissolved into itself creating a moment of timelessness. “The only person i like , is you… will” my heart started beating erratically. “I’ve been meaning to tell you this for a long time , if you are not interested in me I understand , in that case le-” before she could finish, I mustered my courage and leaned my head towards hers ,embracing her warmth and kissing her lips with was a soft pale pink like those of a rose bud.
She looked at me with surprise , but then wrapped her arms around me and I timidly grabbed her waist; The gentle touch of her arms filled me with comfort and warmth and a sense of elation; my heart skipped a beat. We pressed our lips against each other, pulling each other deeper into our kisses and remaining soundless for what seemed like eternity. simply feeling each other’s presence in the heat of the moment. “I- “ my voice was caught in my throat right before she placed a finger on my lips. Without saying her another word, she smiled. It was one of the happiest I've ever seen, like a brilliant jewel beaming on top of the summer blossom which lit up her face and eyes more than anything ever had. It was truly beautiful.
