Once he was far enough, he stopped. There was no need to run anymore. Huffing, he looked around to see if anyone else was near, but thankfully, that wasn’t the case. Giving a content nod, the informant swiped out his cell phone from within his other coat pocket and held it in front of his face as he went through a few menus.
“Now.. Where did you live again… Carver.”
Of course the informant had information on this man. It wasn’t just mere coincidence that they happened to cross paths. There’d be no need to provoke him, either, if the informant didn’t have some sort of plan.
“Ahh.. Right.”
Smiling once again, he then put the cell on standby before pushing it back into his pocket; If he hurried, he could probably get there before Carver did.
Carver had made it back ‘home’ in less than an hour. He was used to walking quickly, and knew the various shortcuts and pathways which led to the small, two bedroom house. He wandered in through the front door, ignoring that blaring of the television that hit him, that stench of booze. Carver didn’t even have time to take off his shoes after closing the door before a loud smash echoed through his ears: a bottle being thrown, breaking against the wall close to him. He hadn’t flinched, not by much.
“Close the fucking door,” His words were slurred, burning with rage. Carver just stared across at the man slumped in the armchair, not bothering to point out the fact that the door was, now, closed. He wandered in with his boots on, figuring that he should keep them on, just in case. “where the fuck’re you going? Huh!?” His father’s-- Daniel’s-- voice rose, abrupt, sharp; Carver stopped.
“Fuck off,” Carver breathed; the man lunged at him, as though he’d been waiting for Carver to say something. Carver turned, about to dodge, but then decided against it. He just took the hit, stumbled a bit, but didn’t move to retaliate. Daniel would get bored, eventually. His raised arm stopped, glossed eyes narrowed, and Daniel exhaled, voice low, but strong in its belief,
“What a waste of my time,” He stumbled back, “look at you-- you fuckin didn’t go to school again, huh? Why the hell do we keep you here, you should just go fuckin freeze outside. Starve, for all I fucking care,” spitting, Daniel turned, then lumbered into the kitchen. Carver heard the clinking of glass, beyond that slight ringing in his ears.
He made his way into the bathroom, ignoring that reddening of his face as he rummaged through one of the cupboards for a needle, figuring he could find some loose thread in Jennifer’s room.

Ah, so the man had finally noticed the blade. Good for him. A low huff escaped the informant as the distance was created. He even looked a little disappointed, however, it was enough time for the informant to make his next move.
“Weeeeellll, this has been fun, but, as I said before you started lunging at me blindly, I have places to be.
Can’t be wasting my time with brutes like you, now, can I?”
All of a sudden, the informant’s attitude flipped, as a grin appeared upon him. He took a step back, held up a hand after flipping the blade back into hiding, and then quickly turned around.
One step,
two,
and then a quick run.
Carver just stared; not expecting the other to turn tail and rush off. Hm. What a fuckin coward. Still, even as he thought this, Carver knew he had run from things himself. Not out of a sense of fear, but self-preservation. As much of a waste of space as he was, he hadn’t thought of dying in a while.
Glancing down to his jacket sleeve, a low noise of frustration clicked out between clenched teeth. Shit. He’d need to sew it, if he even had any needles or thread back at that place. Looking up, Carver ensured that the other man wasn’t just trying to play at something, before he stepped back and turned, making his way back towards ‘home’.

Crimson hues followed each movement that the other flowed in and out of. The interest highly increased with each punch and swing. An excited chuckle escaped the informant as he turned his body to follow the punch while, at the same time, his hand finally pulled out from the coat pocket as a switch blade quickly flicked out all in the same motion; The blade easily closing in on the other’s item of clothing. If it cut skin, well… That would just be a bonus.
“Just as stupid as him, I see.”
The informant idly said, more to himself rather than the other man.
‘I wonder how long I can drag this out.’
He thought to himself, wanting to see each and every reaction before he attempted an escape, if he even did one at all, that is.
“Come on.. You can be faster than that.
Can’t you?”
The moment Carver saw the glint of the knife, he realized his mistake. Being in the middle of punching, he couldn’t react in time, even his body wasn’t that fast. Still, he did his best to minimize the damage, but it still ripped at his clothing. Fuck. His favourite jacket. Carver quickly back-stepped, wanting to create distance between himself and the blade. He repositioned his legs in a manner that could counter the knife, in case the man swung again, and kept his fingers curled but not fisted.

No matter what this man did, the informant’s smile was ever present. Always there, taunting, teasing, mocking. The more the other tightened his grip upon the informant, the more the informant smiled. It was almost as if he was enjoying it far more than he should be.
—–
He sighed.
—–
A shake of his head, and the boredom started to set in. The tediousness of this situation had been met and now the informant just wanted to leave.
Such a shame.
“Oh~?”
What was this? Was he actually attempting to.. Punch the informant? Oh man. Now THAT was interesting. Astonishing how there could be someone so much like Shizuo right here and in this moment. Maybe not as strong, but that temperament..
A sarcastic laugh rolled out from his lips as he took a quick jump back. His chest moving upwards as he inhaled slowly before allowing that breath to escape not long after.
“Well, well.. Looks like the beast has finally shown himself. How cute.”
He then paused, taking a good look at this man before him, as a hint of a grin started to grow.
“Care to show me again?”
He stumbled forward; not ever having encountered someone that fast in their reaction speed. A grunt leaving him, Carver pushed forward, charging at the other guy; he liked to talk. Carver could tell that. He could use that. In the time it took him to talk, he couldn’t possibly react 100% of the time to each and every swing. There was no way anyone was that fast.
He swung his fist, the right this time, attempting to hit the man in the shoulder and knock him off balance.

“My, my.~ Someone is getting all close and personal. Did no one ever teach you to not be so rude around people you don’t know? Honestly..”
His tone was calm, but mocking at the same time. A hint of sarcasm constantly present as he spoke, even with his shirt gripped ever so tightly he still managed to sickly smirk. Ha.. It had been a while since he felt such a rush.
“I guess I might have said something. However.. I don’t really like repeating myself.”
His hands were still firmly placed within the pockets of his coat, his thumb trailing something within them idly.
“Now.. How’s about you put me down, hm?”
“My, my.~ Someone is getting all close and personal. Did no one ever teach you to not be so rude around people you don’t know? Honestly..”
Carver felt his grip on the man’s shirt increase, fingers digging into the fabric. He exhaled, again, through his nostrils, low, uneven; his gaze darkening as he stared across at the guy.
“ Did no one ever teach you... ”
His next exhale was a bit more audible, through his lips this time. Carver heard what the man said, but it didn’t register. Not fully, not right away. No, it didn’t register because Carver suddenly let go of his shirt front, but then brought his other arm up, fist clenching as he aimed directly for the man’s face, intent on breaking his nose.

“Hm?..”
Just what was this guy babbling on about? All the informant had done was simply walk past him and already he was threatening something towards him. As if the man didn’t have enough with his own brute, he had to gain another one. What a pain.
As a low, quiet, exhale escaped him, the informant turned to look at this man with a quirk of a brow. Crimson hues aimlessly looking this character up and down as the informant took in every little detail in the process.
“Can I help you? I’m quite busy and I don’t have the time to be messing around with you, I’m afraid. So, if you could hurry up and spit out whatever it is that you want to say, I’d appreciate it.”
Carver’s gaze narrowed, his muscle twitching just briefly along his lip. Oh this little fuckin-- He exhaled lowly through his nostrils, just watching the other man try and talk his way out of this. Ha. Nah, Carver had heard something. And it hadn’t been pleasant. He stepped forward, a hand jerking up and gripping at the front of this guy’s shirt,
“Don’t you go fuckin actin’ all nonchalant, you smug prick-- ya said somethin, now, say it again,” He had to make sure. Make sure he was hearin that right; his ears started to ring, just slightly, his head aching a bit from that sensation of warm anger, stewing.
@human-lover ASKED FOR A BEATDOWN;;
“You WANNA SAY THAT AGAIN,” He had heard what that dude had said wrong, at first. But it sounded like this other guy had said “yo carver, why dont’cha hit me, hard as you can”. His gaze evened on him, lips thinning; Carver felt that familiar sensation crawling, clawing around in his chest, his throat, body. That hot, undeniable sensation of anger.
