You’re right about that Cooper. I’m not trying to imply that your experiences now are less significant or difficult. But I do think you’re doing an excellent job adjusting now that you have Steve in your life.

Just take it slow, and explain to Steve as much as you love seeing him, you’re still a bit nervous, you know? In the sense that he needs to bare with you, when you get scared.

“Sure Coop, whatever you say.” He chuckled shaking his head. Tony watched him put the waffles in and frowned. “I didn’t want waffles, I wanted Pop Tarts! Come on Coop, even Dad knows I prefer Pop Tarts!” Of course, he was joking, he just wanted to tease Cooper.

He exhaled with relief and smirked. “I always get lucky, but if dad had been up…” He shuddered.

“Bitch I’m having waffles” he argued back in a higher voice to mock his brothers. “I’ll put yours in now, calm yourself” he tutted as he lent over and took two out of the box. Pretending to lick them before he shoved them in the toaster.

He immediately went quiet and raised his eyebrows. Oh he was well aware what their father was capable of. “You’d be dead” he muttered before smiling. “What were you doing at the park that late? Playing on the slides?” he teased.

The age difference often brought Cooper back to reality when he was home. He was finishing school and sneaking it to bars and planning college. Yet his siblings were still playing in the park and had to be in bed by eight.

Tony frowned and sadly opened it. He took a sip and then stared at Cooper. “You know, older brothers are supposed to be cool. Look at Blaine’s older brother, totally awesome.” He grinned pointing to himself.

“The park. What were you doing up?”

“Yeah he is pretty awesome, but he learnt all that from his older brother” he shot him a grin before taking a sip from the carton of orange. 

Cooper turned his back to him before putting in two waffles for himself and listened to him. He jumped up on the counter and looked over at him with a shrug. “Flight got in at about ten last night, mom picked me up then we sat up and talked. She’d just gone to bed before you came in so you got lucky”

Tony slid open his bedroom window, glanced around and smirked seeing Blaine sound asleep in his bed. He climbed in and lowered the window slowly back down. He then proceeded to enter the kitchen to grab a drink before bed, that was when he caught eyes with Cooper. Tony gave a cheeky grin and opened the fridge, removing a lemonade and a Pepsi for Cooper, he passed the bottle into his hands and winked. “You didn’t see annyyything.” He chuckled heading back into bed.

The next morning, Tony woke up late. It was clearly midday and Blaine had left, probably off doing homework or something equally dull. He ruffled his messy bed head and sighed heading downstairs wearing a black vest and his red stripped boxer shorts. He knew his parents would be out, it was the weekend. Mom would be shopping, and Dad would be at the shooting range or hunting lodge or something equally manly.

He spotted Cooper at the breakfast table and gave a sleepy smile. “Did you move since last night?”

Going home was always a big thing for Cooper. He’d spent most of his life in boarding schools of shipped off to summer camps in order to keep him away from the house. One less burden for his father he imagine.

Yet the offer to come home for Spring Break was unheard of and a little concerning too. That was until he realised his Dad wanted him to attend some father and son business expo and the twins were too young. His father was a man of reputation. He’d do anything to keep it up.

He’d arrived home from the airport in the late evening and smirked to himself when he spied his younger brother sneaking in. He wasn’t shy to crawling through a few windows himself so he’d have no need to say anything.

Morning- or midday rolled around and he dragged himself into the kitchen. His mom and he had spent a few hours talking once he’d gotten home and he’d avoided the shopping trip in favour of sleep. 

Letting out a soft chuckle as he rubbed his face. “I just walked in.” he muttered before looking over at the cupboard. Always well stocked. “Poptarts or waffles?”

The fact that Steve is willing to walk you through things slow shows he really cares for you. Plus, he’s told me on several occasions that you’re awesome.

Ah, good to know. I do want to see what Tony’s up to, though. Because I want to make sure he’s doing okay.
