The Imagine blog is supported by the Imagine Group which is a network of teachers and constructors – of builders, structural planners and climate designers. The group sees itself as a merger of educational, research and planning institutions working on conceptual and experimental solutions for structural and climate-related challenges. Imagine Group’s concept is to network the knowledge base according to the tasks and challenges at hand, to provide technical solutions for esthetic and constructive issues. This type of networked collaboration without large, locally fixed hierarchies enables an interdisciplinary, yet topic-related working method that is efficient and – just as important – fun. You are welcome to enjoy our blog that will include not only our concepts, ideas, news and thoughts but will also offer inspiring topics as well as pictures for your own creative work. for more info about the imagine group and the persons behind watch:

Facade Research Group
If you are a long time follower of our blog you may have recognized that we have posted a lot of content from the bucky lab the TU Delft prototyping master class. We have now started a new blog dedicated to the bucky lab, so if you are interested have a look and follow us also there:

You need a direct link to the news, did you noticed that it will directly feed into our imagine envelope bv facebook site? Like it and youre good to go.

A sail trip for us is most likely also combined with seafood and fish - of course and this year we paid Yerseke in the Netherlands a visit. Having good memories to this little village in the Osterschelde I spent my winter holidays quite often in Yerseke as a little boy and remembered it as the dutch capital for mussels - while walking through the oysters bassins we stumbled into a foodbloggers event hosted by Krijn Verwijs the biggest company of mussels and seafood in Yerseke know under their brand Premier . What can we say - this was the culinary highlight of the trip and the seafood was awesome. Next to that we learned a lot from the owner who are already running this business in their 5th generation. Thanks for the hospitality - we will come back !
Working abroad is the best way to explore the world most often during the night - this time I was taken to a rooftop by a friend I met - the beijing skyline - breathtaking
ok, long time no see, many has changed, so its about time to rewrite our blog info a bit - what will happen here in the future ? We stopped the office the team is still active but more on an academic level ... I will continue to post nice pictures all about architecture, building prototypes and having fun with students
If you like the former Bucky Lab projects, nice pictures in general about architecture, technology and every now and then people this might still be your place ...
till now I will enjoy driving my motorcycle and will come back soon
Due to its size, the acoustical comfort in some of BK City’s working spaces is not ideal. Bucky Lab students spent last semester exploring ways to better this and set out to design beautiful acoustic panels. The prototypes are on show in the Oostserre till 12 February.
Our Dr. Bucky Lab spent a couple of days in Lund / Sweden and next to an interesting workshop he also captured an interesting shutter that moves an entire set of blinds in a lecture room.
PowerSkin Conference
The Building Skin has evolved enormously over the past decades. Energy performance and environmental quality of buildings are significantly determined by the building envelope. The façade has experienced a change in its role as an adaptive climate control system that leverages the synergies between form, material, mechanical and energy systems in an integrated design.
The PowerSkin Conference aims to address the role of building skins to accomplish a carbon neutral building stock. Topics such as building operation, embodied energy, energy generation and storage in context of façades, structure and environment are considered.
Three main themes will be showcased in presentations of recent scientific research and developments as well as projects related to building skins from the perspectives of material, technology and design:
Environment: Façades or elements of façades which aim for the provision of highly comfortable surroundings where environmental control strategies as well as energy generation and/or storage are integral part of an active skin.
Façade: The building envelope as an interface for the interaction between indoor and outdoor environment. This topic is focused on function and energy performance, technical development and material properties.
Structure: New concepts, accomplished projects, and visions for the interaction between building structure, envelope and energy technologies.
TU Muenchen, Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Thoma Auer, TU Darmstadt, Prof. Dr. Ing. Jens Schneider and TU Delft, Prof. Dr. Ing. Ulrich Knaack are organizing the PowerSkin Conference in collaboration with BAU 2017. It will be the first event of a biannual series. On January 19th, 2017 architects, engineers and scientists will present their latest developments and research projects for public discussion.

The dutch are amazing. In order to connect Den Hague with Rotterdam they planned to build the A4 highway. And after a long struggle due to the fact that the highway would cross through a very green region that is used for agriculture but also for recreational purposes they did made the impossible possible. They dig a huge trench and lowered the entire highway 4 meters lower. So from above nothing is seen, and the sound is also well muted. Check also the canals on the left and right ...they are still on the former level.
ok, we havent posted too much the last time, but this is worth spreading/ So if you like to work in Copenhagen please have a look for this internship request

its already 23 days into our Movember action within the faculty of architecture and up to now it looks good for our campaign. So dont miss it and donate http://moteam.co/tu-delft-bk-movember
ok we have seen it already but we couldn't resist to try it by ourself. Now with the amazing collection of Nasa’s Apollo mission fotos online on Flickr a couple of them are actually taken next to each other overlapping. With nowadays science put into photoshop its just a matter of a couple of clicks to create a wonderful panorama that unveils the beauty of the moons surface.
