Years Change Everything...

Ethan let his arms drop to his sides when Aiden pulled back, clearing his throat. “Uh yeah, class.” Class? Oh. Yeah that was a thing. Cause he was at school. Honestly Ethan was so lost at the moment he might have forgotten how to walk.
But his eyes zeroed in on Aiden when he bit back his pain. Ethan could smell the fresh wave of it fill the air as his twin pulled his backpack on. “Here,” Ethan said quietly, taking Aiden’s backpack gently from his shoulders without comment and swinging it up alongside his own, easily carrying the extra weight. If he couldn’t take his twin’s pain the least he could do was lessen it.
"He won’t get upset but if you’re worried about it I can talk to him after school," he smiled hesitantly, refusing to acknowledge the look Aiden was giving him for taking his backpack. "And I’m sure we’ll have classes together. Hey maybe they mixed you up with me and we share all the same classes?" Ethan grinned hopefully. "As for sitting together, thats easy. Theres always empty seats in every class. We can sit together if you wanted to?"
Aiden looked up at Ethan with a weak smile, he still couldn't believe he'd finally found his twin after all these years. As much as he wished they'd grown up together, anything would have been better than living together, at least with his string of foster families.
He couldn't let anyone else think there was anything out of the ordinary going on, the less pople asked questions, the better. Hesitance marked his steps as he followed Ethan back into the classroom, shyly looking around at the empty desks. "I-I really want to sit with you, if you're okay with it. How 'bout you pick the seats?"
It was easier to let someone else decide, it'd been that way for most of his life, and honestly, he was fairly hesitant to take control of anything at this point. And it was better for his oncoming headache if he stopped arguing with himself and just sat down. The pain in his side was getting worse and he hunched in on himself, it felt like everyone in the room was watching him and he hated the attention, wishing he could just sink into the ground instead.
