Shortly after they actually become “proper friends,” Drew sometimes would get a little jealous of Ash/Brock. He knows that if May were to list off her closest friends, they would be the first names out of her mouth.

Not because he’s in love with her or anything (as Solidad sometimes teases), but because he’s come to the realization that close friendships are actually something he wants. It’s more that he wants someone to call him a close friend of theirs, more than it necessarily needing to come from May (though it would be nice, since he considers her one of his closest friends).

Solidad doesn’t believe that last bit.

Going back to that quote though.

May would probably convince Drew to try out things that he normally wouldn’t (like, making things or going to new places and just exploring and getting lost for the sake of adventure, usually things she hasn’t done). And he kind of grumbles about it but if it doesn’t seem too implausible/outlandish he does agree to it a lot of the time.

And sometimes it’s a total bust (like, they never make it to where they want to because they got distracted/circumstances got in the way/they got completely lost), but it’s almost always fun in some capacity for both of them. Because in the end, May does know him, and she generally pushes for them to do things where there’s at least a chance of him enjoying himself, too.

The funnies thing about Contestshipping is that whenever Drew actually genuinely gives May roses it’s never going to be not-ironic for May. Like whenever he gives them to her on Valentines or her birthday May always asks who’s it for this time. Drew doesnt want to ruin the act for her so he pretends like he’s still giving them to Beautifly or Skitty. After awhile Drew comes to the conclusion that if May wants to take his foral gifts seriously he will need to switch to other kinds flowers, like Violets.

Yeah, so, my dog chewed threw my computer charger, so after this post, I can’t get on my computer anymore. :/

When Drew brings May home to La Rousse, a year after the Johto Grand Festival, she fails to mention that she had been in the technologically advanced city before. Despite the fact that she was a part of the group that had saved the city, it wasn’t really something she had wanted to dwell on with Drew.

What she wasn’t expecting to see was a familiar looking robot zoom around her head. After the robot greets her, it scans her face, and gives her the same pass. May cringes at the piece of plastic.

“Welcome back, May and Drew.”

Drew looks over May’s shoulder to see her pass. 

“I didn’t know you’ve been-” He stops once he gets a good look at her pass. May blushes as she tries to hide it from him. He doesn’t tease her; he doesn’t laugh. Just a small smile as they walk toward their destination.

That’s May for ya.

Solidad being the first person Drew says that he wants to marry May to and going shopping with him to find the perfect ring for her and helping plan the proposal because she’s so happy for them and she knows how much they love each other and she’s so happy that Drew trusts her enough to be the one to help with all this she just cares about him and May so much.

Solidad just tries so hard to be there for Drew, and it’s sort of unspoken between them that she’s like his surrogate mom/big sister and she helps him with the new baby, and getting job at the coordinating association and taking May to the hospital whenever she breaks her arm/leg/w/e.

Old, wrinkly Solidad hanging onto the last few tendrils of life and Drew sitting at her bedside while May consults the doctors (and gives them a little privacy) and Drew grabs her hand tightly and whispers “you were the best mom I never had” and then he starts crying and she has to wipe away his tears because she knows he has to hold it together for when May starts crying
