All Nighter - Chanyeol Scenario
Any sensible and model student would follow the rules, no matter how dire circumstances may be. But there will always be exceptions.
In your case, it didn’t matter that students weren’t allowed to be on school grounds after 10pm, nor did it matter that you would probably have community service or an expulsion if you were caught. The midterm exams are the only thing on your mind right now, so you were going out of your way to study as much as possible for it, particularly for your weakest subject.
You would’ve stayed in the dorm if your roommates weren’t also ‘studying’ over Skype (loudly) with their boyfriends and friends, and then easily getting distracted by gossip. It was a wonder how they don’t even notice that you sneak out to study yet.
Boldly remaining in your pajamas and slippers, you crept all the way to the girls’ toilet on the ground floor, which was often the cleanest. The lights remained off when you entered. Settling down on the floor opposite the cubicles, you laid out your textbooks and notes from your bag but not before placing a small desk lamp beside you. Studying late at night on school grounds was certainly not the best idea (but YOLO) yet the thrill of getting caught was one of the reasons that brought you to do so.
About half an hour into your studying session, you heard echoing footsteps down the corridor and you could see a bit of light peek through the bottom of the door. You immediately turned off the lamp, closed your books to hold close to your chest and scurried to one of the cubicles, going as far as standing on top of the toilet seat in case the person, who may be the warden, came in.
Your racing heart could not calm down yet when the door to the restroom creaked open and the light from the person’s torch pointed in. Instead of the person to leave as you expected, they sauntered in with heavy footsteps. You mentally groaned in frustration. There was no way you could leave without getting caught, at this rate.
Although the person could not be a warden, you decided, as you heard them sit down. In fact, you could hear some kind of rap blaring through earphones? Maybe it was another girl coming to study. Just when you thought you were the only person who does this. Maybe it was Chaerin; she’s good at rapping so she must listen to a lot of rap but she wasn’t the kind to study like this.
You lost your train of thought when the lamp, that was barely secure on the pile that you were holding, tipped out of your grasp and fell to the floor, causing a startling sound that rang across the restroom. Little did you know, the other person in the restroom was just as panicked as you are.
“You can come out.” Came a really deep voice, which surprised you. There was a boy in the girls’ restroom…
Carefully stepping down from the toilet seat, your legs slightly stiff, you quickly picked up the lamp before stepping out of the cubicle.
How flattering, that the first thing from you this boy is seeing is your sheep slippers.
When he sees you, his face scrunches up in confusion, mirroring yours.
You took a moment to look at his face, which was visible from his own torch. His voice certainly did not match his very childlike face, with big eyes boring into yours, dark hair messy from running his hands through his hair so much and very distinctive and peculiar ears. You then recognized him as Park Chanyeol from your orchestra; very loud and outgoing but you’ve never had the chance to speak to him casually, despite having several people as mutual friends.
“Am I in the girls’ restroom?” he broke the silence, furrowing his eyebrows cutely. Unable to take the situation seriously, you chuckled and nodded. It had to be the girls’ restroom, as you spot the familiar lipstick stains on the corner of the mirror from the girls in your year that liked to get really close to the mirror for their selfies. “Well then…sorry. I never visit the toilets on this floor so I don’t actually know which is which. Plus, it’s really dark so-”
“It’s alright!” you exclaimed, amused. “Just consider yourself lucky you make this mistake now than in the daytime.”
“You’re right.” He replies, looking down at his own textbooks before turning back to you, patting the spot across from him. “I know you! You’re (name)! I see you with Sehun a lot. I almost thought you were his girlfriend at one point.”
“I get that a lot.” You said, joining him on the floor. “I know you too. You’re the pianist in the orchestra.”
He then puffed out his chest, as if to show off. “Yes, I am! And you’re one of the violinists.”
You nodded, signaling that he was correct. Your eyes then travelled down to his textbooks and his messy handwritten notes, even finding little drawings of animals in the corners (was that Rilakkuma?). “Are you having an all-nighter too?”
“Yeah. I’m not doing too well in English right now.” Said Chanyeol, gesturing to his notes. “And I can’t study in my dorm, or my roommate will hit me again. You know Kyungsoo, right?”
“Oh, he’s your roommate?”
It was surprising, considering how contrasting their personalities are: Kyungsoo was quiet and mature while Chanyeol was energetic. Anyone would be curious to know how they manage to share a dorm.
“Yeah, he is. He has this toy baseball bat that he threatens me with if I disturb him. Don’t worry about it, though.” Chanyeol rambles. He looked back to the cubicle you were previously hiding in. “You thought I was the warden, didn’t you? Sorry about that. Should I treat you lunch tomorrow to make up for it? I know a really good café near campus. It’s in an alleyway so not a lot of people know about it.”
Somehow, his big eyes widen as he spoke more and if it was even possible, his ears perked upwards like a puppy’s. It was clear that he was either nervous or excited from the idea, or was it from being able to finally talk to you.
On your end, all you could think was how adorable Chanyeol looked this way. For someone with a really deep voice and intimidating height, he really was like a puppy.
“I’d love to!” you finally answered, reaching over to boldly kiss his cheek. Thank god for the darkness or you would have seen this boy blush madly. If his friends were watching, they would have cheered like the audience at a football game. Maybe a perverted comment too from Jongdae. “Maybe I can tutor you in English in return.”
It was silent again as you looked at the time: 3am. This was usually your breaking point. There goes your private study session.
“I’m gonna get back to my dorm.” You sighed, gathering your books into your bag. “My roommates should be asleep by now.”
“I’ll walk you back.” He offered quickly as he shot up, making his dimple visible as he smiled.
“What if you get caught on the way back to yours?”
“At least I’ll get punished knowing I have a lunch date tomorrow.”
